Extended Stay America Select Suites - Madison - Old Sauk Rd

We've stayed here in the past and at the building next door. It's in a good location and was clean. The staff was nice. The hallways sometimes smelled of cigarettes. What i didn't like is that if you wanted the free grab and go breakfast, you had to go to the other building. In nice weather this is a pain but doable. When it's bad weather this is bad.

Location was good and easy to find.

The room accommodations weren’t good at all, the room had a terrible smell to cigarette smoke and also had bed bug bites. Uncomfortable stay and while staff offered to switch me to another room that was even worse with a terrible musty dirty carpet smell.

The location was good in terms of the attractions we wanted to visit and restaurants and services nearby. The young man working the front desk when we checked out was pleasant and helpful. Having a full-size, working refrigerator was useful.

The place was dirty and smelled awful. From the doors, to the counter where you check-in, to the elevator and hallways, to the stairwells, it was a dirty, smeary, smudgey mess. Our room smelled terrible, the carpet and floors felt dirty, and the sofa was stained. When the AC was running, it smelled bad. It was all just gross. We had to move the TV stand to see the TV from the bed and we had to call down to the front desk to get a remote control for the TV. The room had a kitchen, but there were no plates, glasses, or utensils (not that I could have eaten in the place, it smelled so badly)

Worked out good for what we needed it for.

Great staff, especially Madison (that's her name!) Bed was not bad. The room was a very good size.

Very, very bare Bones and the first room I was in was uninhabitable due to cigarette smoke. Madison was able to move me to a better room ( still was pretty stale with old cigarette smoke but I could breathe ) Furniture is in need of update, but not horrible. Really should replace the carpets in the rooms with fake wood floors or something. The bathroom fan was noisy but it wasn't on when I slept.

Breakfast was as cheap as possible

The staff was very friendly. It was noce and quiet. I mingled with other friendly guests. I did like the kitchenette, and the room was like a mini apartment. My o ly complaint in room 202 was that the full size refrigerator was so loud when it was running.it deffinately needs to be checked. Other than that i would stay there again.

- OK for long term stay if you are on a budget, but if you stay for few nights it is pricy and not worth it! - Decent laundry and Gym facility - Need improvements on: Very old carpets in the rooms; No Body-wash, etc in bath rooms; Dishes and utensils in the kitchen are few and dated; Breakfast on the go is almost nothing, though the coffee was good.
