Ocean view room was great! Very retro design

The only good thing about the Greenmount is the fabulous beach views, but unfortunately this old dinosaur is badly in need of maintenance, as there is lots of construction going on the pool was thilthy and not looking very inviting, the car park is very limited ( tradies and hotel staff seem to get preference and when I complained I was told to go and park across the road at the surf life saving club) the lift is always stuck and the second day we were there was a big piece of ceiling plaster dropped in the reception foyer, there were no fly screens on our balcony so we couldn't get fresh air in case bugs got in, also you could hear all the traffic and noise from the street below and our bathroom sink was clogged. This place was once an iconic hotel in Coolangatta but now its just a disgrace.I will be sure to avoid this place in future and so should you if you want a nice place to stay

I could write an essay on this place and the pathetically uncaring attitude of the manager. Over the 50 years we have been going to the Gold Coast this was the worst experience we have ever had. It is so outdated that we could not get into our room late at night as the key would not work! We had a lengthy wait in the foyer for a mobile security guard to come and let us in. The stressful nature of this cannot be underestimated as we are not young. The care factor of the manager was non existent. She should not be working in this position. Her lack of communication and the disrespectful manner we were shown throughout our complaint was totally unacceptable to paying guests! Good luck parking in this soon to be demolished place( does that that tell you something??). Construction workers from next door have permission by management to park in the parking lot. You will have to probably find a spot in the street( if you can find one) and be careful to avoid a fine! Does that tell you something about this place? Care factor is terrible. This is a precis version of what transpired but suffice to say, go there at your own peril...you have been warned.

Greenmount Beach Hotel is my home away from home. Friendly efficient staff, comfortable beds, gorgeous rooms and both river and ocean views are beautiful. My go to hotel when I want a quiet getaway amongst nature.

Terrific location. Great staff and service. Clean and very relaxing.
