Grand Wailea Maui, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

Gorgeous beach, clean, comfy bed/room. Snorkel, scuba, kayak available on site. Five min walk to shops, restaurants, and market that offers grab-and-go sandwiches, etc. We started our visit with the grand Luau day of arrival. Great way to kick off trip.

Wailea Maui Resort – A Stunning Escape with Some Drawbacks My stay at Wailea Maui Resort was truly unforgettable. The resort is breathtaking, with stunning ocean views, lush grounds, and a peaceful atmosphere. The room was spotless, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the overall cleanliness and attention to detail made the stay even more enjoyable. The food was excellent—flavorful and well-prepared. However, the prices were extremely high, and some portions were disappointingly small. At this price point, certain basics should have been included. Upon arrival, there were no traditional leis or welcome drinks—small gestures that would have enhanced the experience. The luau was fantastic, and guests should remember that tourism is the island’s main source of income. However, the resort should give back more to the local community instead of focusing so much on upcharges. Charging extra for beach chairs felt excessive—this should be included. Despite these drawbacks, the overall experience was wonderful. The beauty of the location, quality of the accommodations, and serene ambiance made it worthwhile. However, for the cost, I expected more in terms of inclusivity and guest experience. I hope the resort reinvests in the local community and rethinks some of its extra charges.

The Grand Wailea is a massive resort with beautifully maintained grounds and a great pool for kids. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and the location in Wailea is excellent. However, the resort feels more like a 4-star experience rather than a true 5-star. The service was just okay, with front desk staff offering a rather “blah” attitude. The on-site restaurants were average, and I’d recommend dining across the street at the Wailea Shops for a better experience. Overall, while the Grand Wailea has some bright spots, it doesn’t quite live up to its reputation.

The property is very big which leads to a lot of walking. They charge $150.00 a day for beach chairs.and one umbrella No other alternative available. No umbrellas available in the adult section. Not a five star hotel.

Beautiful property, I won’t take that away from them. But everything was way overpriced. And I mean everything. Beach water was cold and brown. Also there are not enough seats at the pool. We had to lay on the ground on a towel waiting for someone to leave to have a seat. For what I paid for my suite, that was unacceptable. I won’t be going back.

We love the place everything was amazing in general

This was our second time staying here and there is no other word to describe it other than magic. We are ruined and can never stay at another resort!!! It’s so beautiful. If you can stay here, do it!

We love the Grand Wailea. Have been going for 25 years and will return in the future.

This is a paradise on earth and the most amazing resort on the Wailea sea coast.

This place is paradise. Pools are amazing, food is excellent. Very pricey.
