The staff were all very friendly. Dinner was very good.

Breakfast was a bit of a let down.

Please bear with me as this is long as it needs to be. I stayed for just one night for work. I was due to arrive at 8.30 pm and be gone again by 7.15 AM but in that timescale I received nothing short of brilliant customer service and a fantastic accommodation experience which puts larger hotels to shame. I called ahead to ask about the last food booking and was told 8.30 PM, I made it from Birmingham by 8.15 PM and was starving. Upon arrival the manager was really friendly and said pop you bags down and we will get your food order sorted and we can check you in later. Within 10 mins my food and a drink was ordered and I had my keys. I went to dump my bags and headed back to the bar, which was lovely and full of character. My pint of Guiness was sitting at my table and about 10 mins later my food came out. I ordered the shin of beef and it was totally superb. Easily the best meal I've had in a hotel for a long time. The cheesecake was just as good. If I didn't have work the next day I would have had a few more pints as the locals were all friendly and you could just sense the authentic and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were all polite, friendly and happy. The breakfast team were just the same and the food was great again. I stay away lot for wark and this rates as the best hotel I have stayed at for over 5 years. Clean, well decorated, friendly, welcoming and great value for money. I will be back and I have already told my colleagues who work on a large rail project nearby to use this hotel. Thank you all for a truly exceptional stay. James

Thank you Mews for a great 40th birthday meal, there were 13 of us and everyone said how amazing the food was. It’s a great location for a celebration as they have a private room at the back and lots of specials. If you haven’t been, it’s a must!

Great British venue

Comfy room, lots of parking, nice staff, good restaurant. Convenient for M1. It is a nice building and interesting bar/restaurant.

The bedroom window wouldn't lock and the hurricane blew it open and closed a couple of times. Would have liked an EV charging point. Would have liked to see a breakfast menu. We were offered scrambled egg on toast, or sausage or bacon sandwich but not a full English, though we later saw others having one
