Hotel Rosalila

The location is good and the price is great if you are travelling on a budget.

We slept badly both nights. Either because of the noise from the street or because the staff was talking loudly or playing on their phones close to the room window. We had the cheapest room and it was in the basement area. Also, the interactions with the staff were awkward and they didn't salute us unless we did it first. They didn't tell us about the included breakfast and I'm just seeing now that it was included. I'll try another hotel next time.

Really wanted to enjoy our stay here but struggled. Started well with letting us check in early and the location was very close to town but that was about it for us unfortunately.

Firstly, when getting into the room the smell of mould is overwhelming. Then checking the bathroom was awful, a smell of faeces which became unbearable. The facilities and room just weren’t at an acceptable standard at all. We had one light bulb working which barely lit the room. The WiFi didn’t work for our entire stay. No A/C and a ceiling fan that didn’t work so it was extremely hot. The sink in the bathroom leaked everything out the bottom so made the floor dangerously slippery. The “clean bed sheet” had stains on it from previous guests. When we went to reception to report these issues, the staff were no help they were too busy talking to friends instead of even acknowledging us. This seemed a common problem just constant loud noise until 3am, this was the final issue before leaving our stay early.

The location was good and the receptionist helped us book a shuttle.

The room was extremely smelly, the toilet flush was difficult, the shower didn't drain and then leaked into the room. The free breakfast was nowhere to be found. The power went out for 12 hours (although I think this was in the whole town) but this meant no fan in the room, no WiFi and couldn't charge devices. The shuttle we booked also turned up an hour earlier than we had been told by reception at 4am instead of 5am, luckily we had packed the night before because we had to get straight out of bed and into the shuttle.

Other than the bathroom, it was OK

Cheap accommodation. Located near city centre but slightly uphill. Friendly staff.

No air-conditioning. English not understood.

Hammocks on the rooftop were comfortable but not particularly nice surroundings.

Breakfast on offer was cold toast - we asked if there were drinks included, told we could have a black coffee only, no tea, no milk, couldn't even have water. Bath towels provided were stained. Room was really warm - fan not effective at all. Shower was cold water only but thankfully that's all we wanted considering the temperature of the room.

Our room with two double beds and a private bathroom was spaceous, well equipped, clean and comfortable. The location was good and quiet at night.

Breakfast was included, but it was only two slices of toast with jam.
