Hostel Posada de Gallo

host and volunteers are friendly, a big garden with chill vibe. never need to worry about toilet paper, there's always having second one in the bathroom.

The owner was exceedingly helpful in arranging a tour for us. The volunteer staff were friendly and helpful too. Washing clothes was available for a nominal fee. We were allowed to stay in the grounds after checkout for most of the day. A lovely coffee shop on site, which also provided food if required. Limited book swap available. There were two kitchens, with ovens, hobs, fridge etc and quite well stocked with pans , plates etc. Within easy walking distance to the Morro, town center, beaches, ports and museums. Half hour walk to bus terminal or $2-3 for taxi.

Exceedingly noisy both well into the early hours and again early in the morning. Other guests felt the need to play the out of tune piano, guitars, accordion and music exceedingly loudly, constantly and at all hours (there was no stipulated quiet time or hours, which some guests thought it gave them the right to do this). In the room we had no shower curtain, nowhere to hang the musty towels. There were two kitchens, where utencils etc kept migrating from one to the other. The hostel is lovely but quite tired, although some of the volunteers were working on improvements.

Decent hostel, Safe area, good wi-fi, large lockers in dorm, large garden with seats, good kitchen, laundry service, walking distance to centre.

All good for me!

Owners are super friendly and the huge garden is lovely. I think it was low season because there was hardly anyone around but it was very peaceful and the kitchen was very well equipped.

Really nice guys I was just one day there but i wished i would stay longer. You feel welcome

It's a supremely relaxed place with a lovely garden full of birds. The owners are extremely kind. Good internet. Booked for 2 nights and ended up staying for 7...

The hostel has a nice garden and common area, kitchen, beds are quite comfortable. It's located close to the morro hill and to a big supermarket, 30 min walking from bus terminal. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was more or less quite. It's nice and safe atmosphere.

No electric sockets close to the bed.
