The room is very beautiful and the location is great, but the best bit was how hospitable Maria and Julia were to us. You can tell how much they care about this place and it is so nice to be a part of it they made us feel so welcome and we genuinely felt part of their family. We will definitely return. It was perfect

Magnificent heritage building with wonderful original decor. Maria, the owner, really cares for her guests and takes enormous pride in the property which has been handed down through the generations. Staying here is a wonderful Porto experience if you like the old world charm that Porto has to offer

No lift was a little bit of an issue, but the staff are kind enough to take your luggage up and down for you. But of course original properties of that era did not have lifts.

It was my first trip to Porto and I wanted to experience it by staying somewhere other than a traditional hotel. This lovely and interesting property provided me with that experience. I had a lovely suite with very tall ceilings, a balcony onto the street, handpainted murals and furnishings, and incredible ceiling reliefs. Maria and Ricardo were very hospitable and kind. Ricardo recommended many sites to see, as well as bakeries and cafes. Maria was so gracious, and she oversaw the “comings and goings” for the property (which was in her family). I grew to like them very much. In hindsight, I’m so happy they were a part of my Porto experience. When I had a minor medical issue, they helped me tremendously, which I truly appreciated as I was a solo traveler.

She welcomed us with warmth and treated us with patience and care, making our engagement trip even more special. On our last morning, she prepared a royal breakfast, making us feel like true guests of honor. Staying here felt like stepping into a refined, high-end lifestyle, yet with the warmth of home. Maria’s passion for sharing her beautiful palace-museum with others is evident in every little touch. This place will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we will undoubtedly return. If you’re looking for a stay filled with elegance, history, and heartfelt hospitality, look no further.

It is unique. It’s a beautiful old building but the rooms are very spacious and modern bathrooms. Location is very central.

What a beautiful place. You are in museum. The rooms are so large and luxurious and fully appointed. We loved the location near many great places to drink and eat.
