Villa Valverde Apartments e B&B

Frederico contacted us before we arrived and then met us and was very helpful explaining everything in the apartment and recommending restaurants. The apartment had a lovely garden area. The location was great, a few steps down and then you are near the end of the main street.

We liked everything. Only slight downside was there is a bot of noise from the apartment upstairs.

Great location in Taormina. Close to the action on a quiet side street.

We enjoyed everything about the property and the staff.

The apartment was in need of a refurbishment to say the least. It looked really shabby and was completely overpriced. The photos made it look good but it was really dark and dreary. We’ve stayed in vastly better hotels/apartments in Italy which were much cheaper. We understand Taormina is a tourist Mecca but this was a disappointment. Apart from a bottle of water, there was nothing to welcome anyone. A cheap bottle of wine goes a long way and some decent toiletries and towels cost next to nothing. There was also a horrible grub insect next to the loo brush which made me wonder about the general cleanliness (the sofa in the B&B area also needs a good steam clean).

What a little gem. Location was just off the main street but the apartment was very quiet. It had everything - including aircon with a sleep setting. The real bonus was 1)Federico at check in who gave top advice and helped with booking trips and 2) the roof terrace. What an oasis of calm, a view, an unbelievable private space in the midst of Taormina.

Staying longer!

Close to town, clean and big enough for a long stay

The property was right in the heart of Taormina centro without being too close to the action. Just down the road from the Teatro Antico and a short walk from the main bus stop and taxi rank. It was perfect for what we needed. The property was spacious with cooking facilities and cutlery, a washing machine and a gorgeous roof terrace (which we weren’t expecting) and a lovely view of Mt. Etna. Federico was an amazing host, meeting us when we arrived and always available on WhatsApp if we needed anything.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like but one should be aware that there are a number of steps up to the property. It was a challenge with a bit suitcase!
