Very friendly host and had some great conversations with him. Made me feel very relaxed and at home. Room was big and spacious and shower was fab! lovely carpet to walk barefoot on. I had to stay unexpectedly in Auckland and this was a great place to do so.

Sel was very friendly, hospitable and generous with his time - I enjoyed being shown around the garden and discovering that he had planted red rose bushes in the driveway. The room was spacious with trees outside for privacy and it usefully had a desk and fan. The shared bathroom was close by and had no difficulty with access. There are stairs to the upper rooms but Sel kindly carried my case up as I had hurt my wrist. I was being picked up in the afternoon and Sel allowed me to store my cases and was very amenable to not having to check out on the dot of 10am. Good tea/coffee facilities and cooking equipment in the main kitchen. I had a very peaceful night which is rare in Auckland, no traffic or party noise.

The location is a bit tricky if you have a heavy case. Sel directions were accurate but I couldn't have pushed my case up the hills for 15-20 minutes and caught an Uber which was surprisingly expensive for a short route - $14. Fortunately, I was picked up the next day. The accommodation is very close to Panmure basin, which is a wonderful walk but parts of the area are industrial and apart from the huge shopping centre, unless you're driving, it's quite a walk to locate cafes and supermarkets. There is no room and outdoor key, though the room does lock from the inside, which is more like an Air B nd B and part of Sel's generous open house policy.

I could not stay the night and booked into another so was left very out of pocket. Did not realized it was just a room in a families house that couldnt ve securely licked, had family members cloths in the cupboard and carpet hadnt even ben vacuumed. Not at all what i expected to be sold on a website such as wotif that i had used for years as a trusted site. I did not feel safe and my anxiety and gut told me i had to leave. Not ok wotif. Was what i would expect to be allowrd to be sold on your website
