Firstly, the apartment needs to be fumigated. We were greeted by several small cockroaches in the kitchen upon arrival. The owner/agent knows they are there because they thoughtfully left a can of bug spray on the counter. The cockroaches then poured out of all the appliances as they were used. The kettle was dirty. The airfryer was dirty. Usually self catering places come with clean dish towels and sponge. These were appallingly filthy and OLD. I threw the sponge in the bin without touching it. There was an old crusty bottle of tomato sauce left in the fridge. We got 2 small bath towels even though we confirmed we are a family of FOUR just that morning. Both towels I presume used to be white but they are so old they have become thin like an old facecloth and gone a light shade of grey. There were beach towels in the cupboard however these felt damp. The facilities sound great in the property description but the internet was not available for most of our stay, which we were told was network issues. The flat screen tv worked for the first day and then wouldn’t stay on from day 2. We are grateful for safe, underground parking, the security of the block and the fact that it was mostly quiet. The host was pleasant upon arrival and departure. However, if it weren’t a very busy weekend in PE due to a sports event, we would have left immediately to find alternative accommodation. We could not check out fast enough on our last day and feel completely ripped off. **Disclaimer: our friends stayed in the same block and had a wonderful, clean, ground floor apartment, so our experience was due to the particular unit we were in.

Pictures online were miss leading. Flat was old and furniture out dated. Fittings and windows are falling apart.

I didnt like the first and only phone call with the manager/ owner of the property. She was too confrontational for my liking. It was as if she was doing us a favour to be using her property. No courtesy in her demenaour. I didn't like this at all.

It's location on the beach and pictures of the accomodation seemed appealing. But that was all. The parking was in the basement and requires guests to walk up 3 floors of stairs with luggage. ( you not allowed to use the rollers of your bags -.it makes too much noise! You can be fined R2000 if the neighbors complain). As soon as we got there , we were met with a welcoming committee of cockroaches. We immediately messaged the host and sent through pictures. We were out of there before 10am next day.

- cockroaches (invested), they are everywhere . - dirty coffee canister filled with water -dirty cupboards with condiments left by other guests - dirty oven tray  - dirty oven  - dirty microwave  -dirty dishwasher -dirty kitchen appliances  -dirty cutlery and crockery, that needed to be washed . -dirty bathrooms ( dust all over and mouldy bathroom mat, shower head mildew and rust) -dirty bedrooms (under the main bedroom bed, there was a pair of used socks and dirt ..) -old smelly towels. - All of the cupboards have dust in them . -thick dusts on curtain rails -dead bugs in the bed. -dirty linen . -The wifi keeps dropping  I had requested an immediate refund so that we may book alternative accommodation , however the  host informed that this is not the process . We immediately emailed bookings.com too . What was meant to be a good rest was actually more tiring and a very unpleasant experience. With nowhere else to go , we were forced to spend the night albeit without any sleep. The next morning, housekeeping had arrived. A lovely lady, but with a bucket with a large packet of bicarb and a can of "doom" spray. We required the apartment to be cleaned and the bedding/linen to be changed , however the issue of the cockroaches was untenable. The cockroaches were getting into our bags and personal items . These are certainly not additional passengers , I wanted to take back home. Given this situation the host should have refunded us in full ( as booking.com advised), however she offered an alternate accomodation without the required number of beds. And half a refund . This apartment should not be advertised for further bookings until the above is resolved. We took half a refund , as even though we requested a full refund on immediate arrival, the host insisted that we.spent the night and should be charged. Half is better than none !! And we were desperate to find new accomodation. Poor hospitality!!!
