Crofts Hotel

Despite having an en suite bathroom, I would almost be more inclined to call this a Guest House or an Inn, rather than a hotel per se, as it is located in the rooms above a pub. Almost everything is done virtually (you're given a door code, etc), so there's no check-in desk, but the facilities are either very new or very newly rennovated. Despite there being a pub downstairs, it's either a low-key one or the soundproofing is immaculate, as I didn't hear a peep the whole time I was there. I had a room in the eaves, which I always enjoy. The shower was lovely; instead of a window, I had a skylight that opened, which was very cool, and I slept very well. This is a 15-20 minute walk from the city centre, but easily reached by bus, and there are lots of amenities like corner shops and a Chinese restaurant very close by, to say nothing of the pub downstairs. I certainly recommend for other solo travelers.

Clean tidy comfortable space

It was a bit of a surprise to see resident parking signs where I was told by staff to park out on the street outside the hotel + I was expecting to wake up to a ticket or my car having been towed away. However, all was well :)

Can't recommend Crofts Hotel enough. The rooms were quite clean and well situated. Beds super comfortable and bathrooms updated/new and clean. But the staff are what makes this place an absolute delight. I had some medical issues during my stay and had to extend my stay a few times and the ladies here went out of their way to accommodate me. They called taxis and helped me with luggage as well. I can't recommend Crofts Hotel enough.

Beautifully clean room with brand new facilities. The female staff were fabulous and nothing was too much trouble for them. The entry process was easy with a 4digit code sent via email. The rooms are above a pub but no noise was heard whilst in my room - room B, as I was in the new build. Tea making facilites were provided and refilled upon request. The bathroom was clean and the shower and cubicle appeared brand new. Breakfast was good value at £10 as the cooked was made to order and a small choice of cereals and pastries were available.

Parking is on the nearby streets and if its busy in the pub and surrouding area then parking is not guaranteed. As the rooms are above the pub, they are accessed via stairs and theres no lift so not sure if there are any ground floor rooms there. I would have liked a closing lid on the toilet and a shelf for toiletries.
