The Inn at Middleton Place

Fantastic inn with extremely nice staff, their beautiful garden is so massive I can’t wait to return and see what I missed. Pictures can’t do justice to the grounds!

Very nice clean hotel situated in a peaceful and quiet environment.Large rooms with great view. The included breakfast is of great variety and delicious.

Do not tell anyone about this hidden gem! The Inn at Middleton Place is an exceptional experience. This is more than a place to stay. Floor to ceiling windows looking out on Ashley River. Walk in shower with rain shower head. Large minimal decor room and a perfect bed. the grounds are lined with relaxing chairs and hammocks and just a short walk and Middleton Gardens delight. Admission is included.Happy hour at the Lodge and Breakfast at the Lake House were delicious. All the staff are kind and generous and seem to recognize the amazing gift of Middleton Place. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was good and a pleasant walk. Just please do not tell anyone else, it is that good that greediness is indicated.

Get place to stay

The property is set upon a plantation so you are able to take in the surroundings such as the gardens, various wildlife, and history of the plantation. The restaurant is great. We had some great meals there.

Beautiful gardens, landscape, informative tours and teachers. Fun equestrian ride, wonderful dinner. Only negative is the conflict of times on the tours(not set up well, considering that we would like to see them all) and no information on where they meet shown on the map, so difficult as a newbie, to know where to go. BUT excellent tours!!! Really fabulous and informative, sensitive, but real.

What a beautiful place!

The property has beautiful scenery and is quiet. Perfect for anyone who is looking for a peaceful get away. The restaurant on the grounds was great with more beautiful views, especially if you walk over through the gardens.

There wasn’t a part about the property I didn’t like. Just bring bug spray, especially if you go out in the afternoon for a stroll in the garden!

The good 1. Location: Close to Middleton Place and Magnolia Gardens. Not so much 1. Couldn't park near room. For an elderly person (both of us) or one with a disability (me), this matters. They did offer a ride to our room in a golfcart, but when we were ready to leave, nobody answered the phone, and we called several times. So we had to lug all our stuff to the car. When we were done and checked out, there were two people in the office. 2. Nowhere to store clothes, etc., except for a narrow closet. Other clothing has to stay in a suitcase or be set out in plain view since there are no drawers. This is not the sort of accommodation I expect from such an expensive place. 3. Shower/tub has no security bars. I felt unsafe. They did bring me a shower chair, but the tile floor of the shower still felt unsafe: too slippery. 4. Location: Far from Charleston, and the traffic is usually awful. 5. Breakfast is provided but you have to drive to a different building. 6. No table in room. If you want to play a board game, for instance, you sit on the bed or the floor. 7. Ice is provided but is in separate building, quite a distance from our room. 8. Saggy mattress.

So much history and time with nature! I feel like I learned so much while living comfortably
