Hôtel Restaurant le Gruyérien

After visiting beautiful Gruyeres, we spent a night at Le Gruyerien Hotel and were satisfied. Switzerland is expensive and we were not expecting much, considering our past experiences, but this hotel made an effort in renovation and to keep the customer happy. We had dinner at their restaurant, and we had an excellent surprise. The food was very good and plentiful (they kept offering more). A truly nice experience.

Yet another very comfortable stay. The hotel is located in a quiet, pretty village a few minutes from Bulle by car. Simple but ample rooms, spotlessly clean with lovely views. What makes this hotel special for me is the wonderful host Elisabeth Yerly and her friendly staff, all of whom cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable. The food and wine is excellent and I love the breakfasts with fresh fruit, breads, cheese and hams. Good coffee.

We booked this hotel with a package through local tourist office. We could not have been happier. Our room had a large balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains. Breakfast was a lovely assortment of croissants, breads, yogurts, cheese, meats, jellies, and fruits. The fresh raspberries and pots of fresh coffee made our mornings. The free Wi-Fi worked great for catching up on emails. We only ate dinner one night in the restaurant, but we enjoyed every bite. We found most of the area's attractions were just a short car ride away.

I spent a night there during a bike trip across Switzerland. The rooms are quite basics, simple but clean. The staff and owners were really friendly which made the difference between the average hotel and the fell good hotel. Breakfast was okay with choices of dairy products, breads eggs and meat.

That is a simple hotel. No more than two stars, yet over priced. The shower is very simple and not in the expectefd level. There are many flyes, and we gave up many items of the great breakfast due to this. The beds are simple. Ovrrall an average hotel.

Everytime I travel in this area of Switzerland, I stay at le Gruyérion Morlon near Bulle and Riaz. I love the warm welcome of Élisabeth and Pierre Yerly. Pierre is the Chef and creates fantastic meals, specially Le Menu de Chasse during Autumn Months. Élisabeth makes the place smile and feel at home. The wine list is exquisite and there are all kinds of wines from Europe. From all rooms the view is romantic and inspiring over the mountains. I am looking forward to go back.

Nice, clean and friendly owners. The restaurant is not cheap but food was great. We will be back sometime..

My wife and I stayed for one night and enjoyed an extremely comfortable stay. We were greeted warmly by Elizabeth who was very caring and engaged throughout our short stay. Our room was a decent size with a very comfortable double bed covered in very good linen. The bathroom was very clean and fresh with a very powerful shower, plenty of good quality towels were also provided. The room had a decent balcony with a lovely view of the mountains. We slept really well without any noises or interruptions. Morlon is an extremely peaceful village with nothing else happening there but convenient Gruyere amongst many other places of interest. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of fresh options to suit everyone's tastes. All in all it is a very comfortable family run hotel. We did not get a chance to sample the restaurant but looking at its popularity it would be well worth a try. Free wifi worked very well.

In a little village the nice hotel with excellent restaurant. We had the superior room, very large bedroom and convenient bathroom. What we estimated most, were the long duvet, in most hotel they are too short for us, as we are quite tall. Here nice long duvet, ideal mattress not too hard and not too soft. You could here some noise from the restaurant, however after 11.00 PM it was quiet. In morning we enjoyed a great breakfast buffet, different breads and croissant, home made jams, fresh cream (the speciality of La Gruyère), fresh fruits, meat and most excellent cheese. Elisabeth Yerly, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. In the evening we enjoyed a marvelous dinner and some lovely wines from Switzerland. Of course at the end some nice fruits with a lof of fresh creme, not clotted, just fresh cream, so thick it did not flow, what a dream.

Stayed for 4nights during a 6 week European Holiday. It was good to get away from the "Tourist" hotels and stay in a place where one could just relax - yet be close to the tourist attractions. A car is required.
