"Excellent venue for short or longer stopovers."

Spacious accommodation, warm and clean. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Characterful bar and dining room. Excellent breakfast. Good menu. Countryside setting.

Bathroom facilities a little tired.

"I felt like I was in a 1980’s time warp."

Clean sheets- but that should be expected

The only staff member we saw was totally disinterested in us-we felt like checking in was an inconvenience to her! Shower didn’t work properly temperature control needed replacement. Broken shower hose in bath. Plugs x2 were grubby and didn’t fit the bath plug hole properly. Mould in bathroom-needed a deep clean Extractor fan not working. Wiring in bedroom to tv -heath Robinson terrible .

"Lovely."

Nice location and lovely old pub and the beer and food were delicious.

Could do with a tiny bit of updating in the chalets. But that isn’t a complaint from me as I’m slightly old fashioned myself, was a spot on stay for me.

Warm ground floor room; lovely fluffy towels and very comfy bed; good facilities in room, TV, free wifi, coffee maker. Really dated patterned carpet which took the edge off. Shower room had no heating and was really cold. quality shampoo and shower wash but please fit brackets in shower to hold refillable bottles.

Dining room open from 6:00 pm to 8;30 pm which seems short for a hotel. I had been at a function with buffet so not really hungry but being on my own would have enjoyed a glass of wine and a meal but later. Breakfast finished quite early as well - although I had not booked for breakfast so didn't bother.

room was very warm clean and comfortable and the breakfast gave a great choice of continental and cooked options. Dinner options were also excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

"Good food, poor accomodation."

The manager was friendly and obliging, and the young staff were excellent. The food was brilliant, Full English and evening meals great quality.

The room was shabby and could do with updating which was a bit of a let down. TV only worked on BBC1. Not a great selection of draft beers or ales.
