Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Minneapolis Shakopee

For the most part the hotel was great the only suggestions I would make is the gym area missing weights and some equipment not working also the Pool said it was out of order or not usable. Lastly sitting outside where they had tables no one keeps the outside landscaping up to date that would make a huge difference. Weeds growing up all over and cig butts

The lobby and amenities were fresh and updated. Breakfast was average. The first room we checked into had bed bugs as well as black socks on the floor- we went to front desk and the agent confirmed. Said they had not had a problem for about a year! We moved to another floor and inspection of the bed we did not find any bugs. The room itself was dirty with food and urine stains on the floor in bathroom. Blinds didn't work. AC covered in black mold. Housekeeping only came once in our 6 day stay. We ended up buying cleaning supplies to clean the AC and bathroom. Emailed the manager a few times, spoke to front desk and emailed corporate as well. Corporate has responded only to say they will get back to us in 5 days. Marriott - I would have expected better. Disappointed in the stay and the follow-up.

My biggest complaint was that I prepaid for a room with a king bed and upon checkin at 3:06pm was informed that the room was not available and that they were oversold- only 2 queens available. I was not offered a credit even though I paid more for a room that i did not received. I have never experienced this and beyond disapponted. In addition, one of two elevators was not working which made it very difficult getting up and down from 4th floor with baggage. Lastly, we were woken up all night from someone snoring in either the room next door or below us- the walls/ceiling must be thin to hear something like that. Worst hotel experience in awhile.

It was a very nice place to stay.

Friendly and fast check in. The shower wasn’t the greatest. The room was clean at a glance. I did clean the lamp shade. It appeared to have been soiled, Red in color on it.

Convenient

Room clean, nice bed and pillows. The bathroom needs a fan and tub needs safety bars or make the tub nonslip. Its dangerous. Need to put a bell at the front desk as they are working in back also and don't seem to know when someone is waiting to be checked in/out. Fabulous entry waiting area. Great for just relaxing or reading. Breakfast seating area is nice and spacious. The breakfast offering is basic, but it is included in price.

It was a fine stay! The breakfast was great, however the room’s air conditioning unit was not working properly and the bathroom shower door was falling apart. There was a leak coming from the ceiling in the lobby, which was very distracting and noisy. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant and comfortable.
