VISU VILLA hotel

The room was very comfortable and relatively spacious. There was air conditioning and breakfast was delicious.

The swimming pool was a bit dirty and there wasn’t much space to relax around it, so we barely used it during our stay, when it was one of our key decision points to choose this accommodation.

Ich war mit meiner Freundin dort und wir waren vor allem vom Service begeistert. Ich habe wirklich noch nie so einen guten Service erlebt. Alle waren unglaublich freundlich, flexibel und haben bei allem geholfen. Besonders angenehm war, dass vieles sehr unkompliziert und individuell möglich war. Zum Beispiel konnte man das Frühstück zu der Zeit bekommen, die für einen am besten passt. Generell war die Kommunikation mit dem Host extrem einfach, weil er über WhatsApp immer direkt erreichbar war und sich sofort gekümmert hat. Auch beim Essen und Trinken wurde sehr auf uns eingegangen. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und vielfältig. Meine Freundin ist beim Essen eher etwas wählerisch, aber nach kurzer Absprache wurde direkt auf ihre Wünsche Rücksicht genommen. Wir kamen außerdem erst sehr spät abends in der Unterkunft an und hatten noch nichts gegessen. Auf meine Nachfrage wurde dann sogar noch für uns gekocht. Meine Freundin ist Vegetarierin und wir haben beide Kottu bekommen, dazu noch eine Wurst. Als wir später gesagt haben, dass sie vegetarisch isst, wurde das am Ende sehr fair gehandhabt und nur ein Kottu zu einem kleinen Preis berechnet. Beeindruckt hat uns auch die Hilfsbereitschaft bei praktischen Dingen. Wir wollten zum Beispiel Wäsche waschen, obwohl die Unterkunft das selbst gar nicht angeboten hat. Das Personal hat unsere Wäsche extra in die Wäscherei gebracht und später wieder abgeholt. Am Ende haben wir transparent nur die normale Rechnung der Wäscherei bekommen, ohne irgendeinen Aufpreis für den zusätzlichen Aufwand. Außerdem wurde für uns ganz spontan eine Safari organisiert, genau nach unseren konkreten Wünschen und zu einem wirklich fairen Preis. Ein anderes Mal wollten wir ein Getränk kaufen, das gerade nicht da war, und dann ist jemand extra für uns in den Laden gefahren, ohne dafür mehr zu verlangen. Am Ende hat uns der Besitzer sogar noch kostenlos in Richtung Busbahnhof gefahren, weil wir etwas unsicher waren, wo wir hinmüssen. Unglaublicher Service

Der einzige kleine Kritikpunkt war ein bisschen das Badezimmer. Ein Teil zwischen Dusche, Waschbecken und Zimmer ist eher offen gebaut. Der Sichtschutz war zwar komplett gegeben, aber durch die Holzstruktur konnten Mücken hineinkommen. Man musste deshalb darauf achten, die Tür zum Zimmer geschlossen zu halten. Wenn man das gemacht hat, war alles gut. Zusätzlich gibt es am Bett ein Moskitonetz, sodass man nachts trotzdem geschützt ist. Gleichzeitig kann man das auch positiv sehen, weil dieser offene Teil dem Badezimmer ein luftiges Gefühl gibt, fast wie ein kleiner Balkonbereich. Ich fand das ganz angenehm, meine Freundin ein eher weniger.

Ruwan is a good host who can arrange anything you’d want. Whatever we would ask, he and his team would deliver. Good meals, safaris, day trips: everything is taken care of at Visu Villa. The breakfasts were huge and cooked right in front of us, a very nice touch. The room was fine and the bed was comfortable. And another luxury in Sri Lanka: it’s quiet at night. And yes, as some reviews point out, things might be lacking here and there, but give the staff a chance to fix it, they are very willing to.

The room wasn’t very clean, especially the bathroom. The toilet was leaking, causing an unhygienic situation. Music from the bar resonated quite strongly into the room, even when it wasn’t loud. Communication with the staff was not easy when Ruwan was not around.

The owner was lovely and made sure everything was taken care of. He helped me organize where to go and organized transport as well. Was a lovely quiet place to stay. feed was fabulpus and there was live music every night which was lovely during dinner.

L'endroit est vraiment magnifique, très bien entretenu, un vrai dépaysement 🥰 le personnel est au petit soin, Ruwan très sympathique et de bon conseil, l'ambiance est vraiment chaleureuse. Les massages proposés sont très agréables, les plats proposés sont variés et très bons vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés 😊 merci pour tout🥰

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Visu Villa. The breakfast was amazing and any food we purchased on site was brilliant (good value and freshly cooked on site). Ruwan (the main host), Buddhika (a local car driver for the hotel), Dhilip (a local bird guide/musician/man of many talents) were helpful, friendly, genuine people who knew the area and went out of their way to make sure our stay was good as it could be. The support staff were also very attentive and professional. Our Double Room was comfortable and the communal pool was great to cool off in after a hot morning of exploring. The vibe of the hotel was very nice - semi jungly. Overall, the location was great - close enough to town to walk, but not on the main strip, which was better to be away from. Also a convenient location to do day trips from. Thank you team Visu Villa for a fantastic stay - we won't forget you.

The rooms are slightly dated, but the service/food/value for money makes up for it.

De service was uitmuntend! Ruwan is ongelooflijk servicegericht en gastvrij. Ons meest bijzondere verblijf tot nu toe in Sri Lanka en we zijn een maand onderweg. Een fantastische basis om de triangle te bezoeken. Anthony heeft ons de omgeving laten zien met de Tuktuk en extra’s, helemaal top. We komen hier zeker terug.

Fantastisk personale! Morgenmaden var et festmåltid og de serverede lokale retter og andet godt. Selv på vores afrejsedag måtte vi absolut ikke gå før vi havde spist. Meget søde og hjælpsomme og en dejlig atmosfære. Poolområdet var hyggeligt med kig til aber og egern.
