Baxter's Brewhouse Inn

The property was unkempt outside. Common area furniture was old and interior was disheveled. The owner checked people in at 1AM and they were right outside our room talking loudly for 30 minutes and making noise while lugging luggage up the stairs til 2:30AM. We decided to leave a day early.

The lodging was barely acceptable until the second night when totally unacceptable. Against their own policy, the owner allowed a check-in at 1:00 am. The people were in the hallway outside our room speaking loudly with the owner without regard to the other two room patrons who were asleep. They kept asking asking and whatever until after 3am. The front porch was trashy, the furniture in common areas was shabby and not conducive to relaxing with the common area TV. We would never do this again. Only fraternity brothers might like the free beer but it was a disaster for couples seeking to getaway.

Been to Georgetown many times but first time at this property. I don't drink but the Roit beer sida was great. I will be back and with friends. So relaxing 😌

We enjoyed a quiet night in a lovely house! We were just a block from the river which was very nice and right in the middle of the beautiful historic district. So thankful we found this place and do plan to return, but not on a Sunday as most of the businesses and museums were closed.

Very nice B &B room and common area. Three rooms share bathroom. This was a surprise to us, as it was not spelled out in the listing.

Warm, friendly, homey atmosphere and great beer. The lists are so welcoming and very attentive. It’s like staying with friends! Rooms are charming, very clean and so comfortable.

Love, love, love this inn. The location is perfect for visiting historic Georgetown, just a couple short blocks to great restaurants, shopping, and waterfront. It’s an historic home—three rooms, coffee and breakfast on the go-but it’s also a Brewhouse! Yes, you really can drink free delicious microbrews at any time, brewed in house by Joseph. The hosts, Joseph and Tina, were so gracious and hospitable. Little touches throughout made our stay perfect—plug extenders in the rooms, a nicer hair dryer than I use at home, sitting areas with TV, lovely porch to watch the evening come on, even bug spray and sunscreen if you forget you’re in coastal Carolina in the spring. They checked in with us on our trip to recommend places to visit and dine, places they actually go, which were awesome. We were as comfortable there as if we were staying with family, the ones you like 😉 We’re already planning to return!

Great place will stay again

Host greets you with some home brewed beer and some fine socializing before escorting you to your room. The upstairs cosists of 3 separate rentable bedrooms that lock. 2 shared bathrooms and a public shared gathering area. Aside from unlimited tap beer, there was a non alcoholic root beer on tap. And a fridge in the public area stocked with bottled water, Gatorade and fruit punch. A comfortable front porch to sip your beer on. And one block walking distance to everything the waterfront part of Georgetown has to offer. Most plesent stay.
