There is no AC, no front desk, building it's too old and noisy, no one answers emergency number. I was out of power, lots of mosquitos, extremely hot...

The location was about the only good thing, we were double charged and the owner was never available to clarify or give receipts. We called, text, messaged on booking and tried to meet in person and she was never available. Dodge this place at all costs

Great location, that's about it.

Double charge even those owner said she would give us the upgrade with no additional charge. Completely unresponsive via text and booking and in person. Tried multiple times to meet her and she was never available nor was anyone at the front desk. Dirty rooms with terrible lighting.

The bathtub in the upgraded room was nice.

A lot, the prices differed from listing, the owner said she would refund us a room for the upgrade and ended up charging us an entire other room. She even had a complementary bottle of wine in the room and I saw her take it out. When she realized I saw her trying to save money she put it back. We contacted her on whatsapp, booking and tried to meet with her in person 3 times and she was never available to figure out why there were extra charges.

Rugs haven’t been cleaned in years. Service is bad. Staff is never there. Doors to the room are extremely hard to open and close. Didn’t feel safe. We left after the first night. They didn’t even ask why. Hotel actually goes by two names, which felt dodgy. The crib they gave us was broken. We reported it and they didn’t care. The shower is broken, they said it was a feature of the room that water comes out the other end of the room yet it’s impossible to stop it- I explained it and they didn’t care. At the very least it’s a waste of water which got our things wet.

location is great, close to food and shopping and the centre of town. Staff is friendly. own key to enter and leave building. no breakfast but plenty of places around to eat at.

The cleaning and reception staff were all very nice.

The air conditioner was broken, and when I raised the issue I was offered a fan or told I could pay an extra 20USD per night to upgrade the room. I booked my room specifically with an air conditioner as I knew it would be hot in San Miguel de Allende when I was visiting. The thermostat on the aircon showed it was 37C/98F overnight. The room was not okay: there is no ceiling fan or window to open in the bedroom or entry area. The manager did not want to offer an equivalent or better room, and stated that if I ended the booking early I'd still have to pay all taxes and booking.com fees for the nights I had first booked. I complained that this was not fair, as all I was asking was for him to provide a room that met the criteria I booked and paid for. Eventually I was offered a room, with a slightly better aircon, at another location, however there was no fridge available at this location. The new room was still hot, though at least habitable, and whenever we wanted access to the fridge for our food we had to hope a reception staff member was on the desk to let us into the other building (they mostly weren't). The new room also had a bedroom door handle that didn't work, most of the floor tiles were loose, and the TV remote didn't have batteries. It felt run down. Overall it wasn't a good place to stay and I wouldn't recommend it.
