Saltaire Cottages

We had an amazing time at Saltaire. Everything was clean and well maintained. It was very convenient to have beach access right across the street and it was never crowded.

Location was good. Rooms were clean and had everything needed.

Stairs. Had a senior citizen with us. Climbing stairs was difficult for her. Should have been mentioned somewhere that the room chosen is on 2nd floor without elevator.

The pool and the king size bed also the location !!!

Loved everything

First off, my family has been coming to the outer banks since before I was born, so this wasn’t my first visit. We visit every year normally as a big group and we rent a big house but this year timing was off for everyone. I still wanted to bring my own family, my kids look forward to the beach trip every year. I wasn’t able to book a last minute house big enough for us and in my price range for two adults and six kids. Then I found the Saltaire cottages. I was a little worried at first when I booked that my family would be cramped in the cottage and maybe we would bother other visitors with all these kids.. but I’m so GLAD I booked the cottage! We had a blast! We stayed in cottage 11, it’s a 3BR 2bath and was plenty big enough for 8 people! The day before we left another big family was coming in to the cottage beside us so we were happy to see another big family. The pool was clean, bigger than most house pools and we were the only ones in it for a bit so the kids got to be kids in the pool. As for the beach, loading 6 kids up to go to the beach is a hassle in its self, but the beach access was just steps away! I was able to rent a beach cart from the cottages as well! The staff helped us quickly and very nice! One of the TVs was smarter than me and I couldn’t get it work but staff came in and fixed it in less than 3 minutes. I’m planning on bringing my mom back for her birthday in September, hoping to stay at the cottages again! Saltaire staff, thank you so much!

Our stay was for a family vacation. Not being overly familiar with the area, this seemed like a good choice at a reasonable rate. The location was very good and the beach is a short walk across the road. There is a private entry to the beach that is not a very steep climb compared to some. The beach itself was very nice and not very crowded. The building is older and converted from a motel type setup into larger "cottages." While the building was older and could use some additional curb appeal, the inside of our rental was decently updated and very clean. The beds were comfortable and overall very spacious accommodations. With five people it was nice to have two bathrooms. Appreciated a complete kitchen with full sized refrigerator and Keurig. We were on the second floor so we did have to contend with a decent amount of steps. One immediate problem was the fact that we could not get in because the lock had issues. It took about 45 minutes to figure this out. Although there is something called an office, it is not like a hotel office that is regularly staffed. The lock glitched a few more times but we had a physical key by that time. Only other problem was the main bedroom TV did not work. These things should be checked prior to arrival. The guest is also responsible for moving garbage to the cans behind a garage. Not a huge deal but it is a pain on the last day when trying to get ready for departure. Overall, a pleasant place to stay and would do so again.

Saltaire Cottages was a great place to stay for a few days. It was cleaned and had what we needed for those few days. When you drive up it seems to be a little outdated. The inside of our cottage had been redone and it was fine. The location is great, right across the street with their own beach access. The beaches were not so crowded on any day that you felt like you were right on top of each other.

We had a great time staying at Saltaire Cottages! The unit was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and basic kitchen supplies. We loved the private screened porch and easy access to the beach. The location was perfect and convenient to the beach, restaurants, and shopping locations. The pool was clean and my family enjoyed the raised platform with seating and oversized connect four game. The staff was clear and communicative via email. Check in and check out procedures were easy to follow.

Our unit had some ants that found their way mostly into the kitchen with a couple venturing into the bedrooms. Other than that, everything was great!

Location was quiet and just across the street from the beach.
