Gorgeous room with two windows looking over a field. Comfy beds. Great decor with lovely pics and objects. Good drinks available in room with quality biscuits. Fresh milk down hall. Food of high quality.

Lovely, cosy, characterful pub. My room was a good size and very comfortable. The shower was great too. The location is perfect for being out in the countryside, but very close for visiting Bath and Bristol, and the Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon, countryside and villages. The staff get a special mention too... they were all really lovely; friendly and helpful, and happy to have a chat. I was made to feel very welcome and hope to come back for a return visit.

The welcome was very friendly and I was provided with all the details I needed for my short stay, as well as given a reserved table for dinner just 15 minutes after I arrived. The room was excellently appointed and very comfortable with all ameneities that I needed, including a hairdryer and toiletries. Dinner was very good, unfortunately I had to leave early in the morning so didn't get to try breakfast. I would definitely return here whenever I have a need to be around Bristol/Bath!

Not a major thing in the grand scheme of things but the information sheet provided in the room mentioned that an iron and ironing board were colocated in a cupboard in the corridor - when I went early in the morning as I needed to do some ironing, there was a notice in there saying that the iron needed to be collected from reception, but it wasn't open at that time so I couldn't get it. If I'd known (or, in fairness, checked!) the night before, I could have done my ironing.

Parking was good, there was a smaller car park for 'residents' but there was also a larger one directly opposite so if the residents one was busy, you could still park easily. I stayed for two nights and wasn't expecting my room to be serviced in between, but it was which was a nice surprise. As a coffee lover, having a cafetiere was a nice touch (plus the usual instant dried pouches)

It is an historic building so creaks are commonplace, however all the rooms are upstairs so any creaks you make don't bother anyone else unless they are in the bar/restaurant.

It was quaint and cozy. There are only a few rooms and they are clean and comfortable.

The walls are thin and I could hear the murmurs of conversations in the next room.
