Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort

We stayed 2 nights in Feb 2025. First night was at the Glass Igloo then Log Cabin at the East Village. Pros: We chose the East versus West for a more authentic experience. Anastasio at the reception desk was accommodating and welcoming. Food selections at the restaurant for Breakfast and Dinner were great as are the ladies, Mailyn and Rochelle, the servers who always had a smile when you walk in. I see all workers really work hard in doing their jobs including the shuttle drivers and the guy who lit the fireplace in our cabin. CONS: East village Glass Igloos could use some renovations. There were some bugs on the floor. Whoever is in charge of booking is a huge let down. When I booked my Glass Igloo reservation, I mistakenly booked for 2 nights. I immediately sent a message to Kaklaustannen and later with help of Expedia reps to have the 2nd night, NOT CANCEL, but switch to Log cabin for comfort of my husband who is 72 years old. They repeatedly denied even though for it’s for medical reasons since my husband has a bad knee and heart issue. I end up purchasing an extra reservation for the 2nd night so he could be more comfortable at the Log Cabin. So I had 2 reservations for the 2nd night!! The management is downright callous, inconsiderate and greedy.Log cabins are actually cheaper than Glass igloos and I initially booked in Oct ‘24. Plenty of time to switch. Even the Expedia reps tried to help and advocated since it’s for medical reasons but to no avail.

The cabin is so cozy and spacious. The layout also allows up to 6 pax if you are in a big group. You can choose your own corner to spread yourself out. Sleeping under the igloo allows one to experience literally sleeping under the stars. There are also other outdoor activities you can sign up for.

No accommodating at all. No shower in the igloos. We have to walk so much to find the shower cabin in a negative degree weather. Then there were no signs to follow the route. The cancelled one of plans Husky last minute and did not really accommodate us with any other option. We wasted our whole day and a lot of time staying at this place.

Absolutely amazing!! A+++. We stayed in the 6-bedroom Kelo-Igloo and enjoyed the amazing lodge, service and activities. We went on the Reindeer Safari with the knowledgeable and friendly ladies and got to feed the reindeer afterwards. We also went on the huskie ride and got to mush our own team- the best!! We also went snowmobiling into the forest with our expert leaders. And we saw the aurora borealis on our last night - absolute icing on the cake. Wow!!

Seeing the green and pink skies with moon and stars from a glass igloo was all needed for our special anniversary second honeymoon Perfectly planned with spacious washrooms nd a private sauna No disturbance around with snow all around Just loved it POV : U should be fit enough to travel long distances and enjoy the nature

Staff was excellent

The lodge was amazing. A perfect place to truly relax unwind and watch nature go by. Plus how can you not be happy when you watch the dog sledders whiz by your window

The cozy atmosphere in the igloos and the amazing northern lights what more could you want…

Best and most beautiful place I have ever been to, nothing compares, resort itself is situated in a remote location but with plenty of activities to choose from and friendly staff to look after guests. Definitely recommend, it's worth visiting.

We had an amazing stay at Kelo-igloo. We experienced Northern lights on our last night. The staff from the front office and Aurora Restaurant are all very nice. If we have a request, we just send message via WhatsApp and one of the staff will be right there in the cabin to assist us. Highly recommend!!!
