Hotel Haus am See Self Check-in

Closer to a few restaurants. But not great service. I asked for the pillows, since the ones they provided were flat and didn't provide any support- no response.

Had a very unpleasant conversation with the manager of this hotel. Agoda says nothing about a lift in the hotel description so i called them and asked a simple question if they have lift. The reply i get from them is You indians want everything with less money, just move to the 5 star and get a lift dont bother to come here. Is this not discrimination? He judge my whole country on some meaningless background. The next he is educating me that you should have read before booking and he was taught to read before booking in the elementary school. I really dont understand whats the point to talk like this. Is this hospitality? Is this not super rude and disrespectful . The most hurtful part is he is discriminating us. I would suggest all guest planning to visit this hotel to stay away from such people until they come to there senses to how to treat guests I believe what goes around comes around. 0 stars for this rude behaviour and unpleasant conversation. I bet anyone have such conversations will spoil there mood and there holiday.

One night stay - it’s a short five minute walk from the train station which is a big plus. Excellent view of the lake and Hallstatt. Basic rooms with no AC but otherwise clean and tidy.

Amazing view and surrounding areas. Check in was easy, but no staff around at check in as we had a question (we had tried contacting the property early in the day and got no response then either). Was slightly disgusted by blood stains on pillow case and blanket (im assuming they were stains and not fresh nlood).

The property, although super well located, has a terrible hospitality strategy. I was not aware of the self check in. I never got an email from them. So, I arrived at 11AM and the doors were all locked and the not on the door was only in German. I cannot believe that a hotel in a place filled with Chinese tourists and many other nationals has only signage in German. Then, a hotel worker opened the door but she did not speak any English and after struggling to communicate I had a reservation via google translate, she told me I had to wait outside. Finally, a very friendly older man arrived, some 1.5 later (He worked the front desk and was making breakfast the morning after) and checked me in surprised that I had not received any emails. Despite the views, I would not stay there again.

This hotel was wonderful. Great location right on the lake and close to the train station. The staff was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. The bed was very comfy. Will absolutely stay again.
