1 Hotel Hanalei Bay

Our third stay since they (re)opened? Been coming since it was a St Regis. Love what they did to the beach. It seems they are finally trying to improve the 1 kitchen restaurant. We all know you do not visit Kauai for food. But the recent efforts are nice. Rooms are great and the staff was a nice as they ever have been. Will be back!

Wow. This resort could not be located in a more beautiful place. Built into the side of the hills with a beautiful pool and beach area. Service was amazing from the moment we checked in at the guard hut. Everyone we came into contact with at the resort was kind and helpful and full of aloha spirit. Our room was well appointed, and always clean. Love the filtered water on tap and the Nespresso units for coffee in the morning. I absolutely love that you could completely open up the windows (and screens) to fully enjoy the amazing views. We ate at most of the restaurants onsite and honestly everything was incredibly delicious and (IMO) reasonable for what it was (a resort on an island). The only regret we have is not taking part of more of the hotel offerings. We were trying to experience the island but I wish we had stayed at the resort more. They have such fun offerings throughout the day and week. We would love to take advantage of more of these next time ;) We absolutely loved our stay here and trying to find excuses to come back.

This place is amazing . It really is . The hotel , the service , everything . It was a fantastic stay . Highly recommend staying here.

We finally got around to visiting the natural beauty of Ka’aui, the last of the six Hawaiian islands for us. We decided to stay at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay because we prefer modern designs and the location looked stunning even in photos. The setting really is undeniably beautiful. We normally don’t like eco-friendly hotels but this one was very tastefully designed and our suite large, airy, and beautifully decorated. The view from our room was panoramic and hence immersed you in Ka’uai’s lush greenery. The service was exceptional, Kim Anh Ngo and Mokihana really went above and beyond to make us feel special on our anniversary! Usually for such a large scale hotel, we do not experience such personalized exceptional service but this was not the case at this hotel. The Terrace view is not to be missed but we had a preference for the food at 1 Kitchen: fresh and flavorful, especially that crab pasta!! Now that we have been to all the islands, we can say with confidence that the setting of this hotel is the MOST beautiful for us and that it is one of the most relaxing and beautifully designed resorts in all of Hawaii! Thank you Kim and team for a beautiful stay and for making our 14th Wedding Anniversary so memorable!!!

What a great hotel makes you feel like a princess. So many wonderful things to do on the property and so many wonderful restaurants. We enjoyed the E bike rental, which was free and went on a nice two hour bike ride. We did venture out of the property, but really you don’t need to. They have everything you need. We had no problem getting into any of the restaurants and the food was fabulous and the views were breathtaking. I highly recommend this property.

Vincent Barnett and his team made our special trip to Hanalei absolutely incredible! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived until checkout for our large group of nine. Traveling with both small children and adults, Vincent ensured our rooms were conveniently located near one another. He was accessible 24/7, and booking activities was seamless—we could simply text him! He even arranged welcome gifts and balloons in the children’s room for their birthdays. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. One in a lifetime experience! The property is picture perfect and every meal was to die for! 1 hotel never disappoints!

I’ve been coming to 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay since 2023, and the pool staff is a huge part of why I keep returning. The team is consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely kind — and Tia, especially, deserves recognition. She’s been here for years, and her steady energy, kindness, and respect set the tone the moment you arrive at the pool. Even on the busiest days, she checks in with everyone and somehow makes you feel like you’re the only guest she’s focused on. That kind of presence really shapes the experience, not just at the pool, but throughout the entire resort. What I’ve always appreciated is the familiarity — being greeted by the same faces who actually remember me year after year. That level of care is rare, and it shows. The whole team is upbeat, smiling, and laughing with guests, creating the kind of effortless, positive atmosphere that makes your stay feel special from start to finish. The pool staff here truly elevates the resort. If you’re staying at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, expect them to make your trip even better.

One of my husband and I’s favorite hotels in the world. We come here at least once a year and always look forward to coming back. Perfect location, incredible restaurants, and the staff is so friendly and helpful with anything you need.
