Location and the building is magnificent

It’s a very nice hotel overall, but families should be aware that children are not allowed to use the jacuzzi. Before confirming our booking, we specifically asked and were assured that children would be allowed to use it. However, when we arrived and stayed at the hotel, we were told the opposite. We raised the issue with the hotel and explained that we had booked based on the information provided, but the only response we received was an apology and a statement that staff would be retrained. Unfortunately, this was disappointing and did not resolve the situation for us.

Was on a spa 2 days with my 2 Daughters & would say one of the best that we have been too although a bit more expensive than we normally pay. The room was a nice size for all 3 of us. Staff were all very polite & helpful. Absolutely beautiful hotel inside & out.

I don’t like shower curtains apart from that excellent all round.

It was lovely, clean, the room was a great size and accommodated 4 adults and a baby comfortably. All staff were friendly. The Reception staff were welcoming. I love the property and the grounds were wonderful. The spa facilities were great too. We ate in the restaurant and the food tasted great 😊

Beautiful grounds.

Very noisy 'family' area of the hotel, was not offered any options for food when we arrived only 'children under 12 are not allowed in the main restaurant. Dated rooms with dust on the bed frame and a few moths in the curtains. Complementary water was not in the room after the second night and the room didn't look made only towels changed. Odd draconian swimming pool access times for kids. Website and booking.com profile cited pool open from 9am to 10pm and families welcome. In reality we were kicked out of the pool when we went for a swim at 11am after being led there by someone from reception. Apparently kids swimming is 2pm onwards only. Wild. We then went about our day and returned for a swim at 7:30pm where we were once again told it's not allowed. As kids are only allowed from 2pm to 6pm. Honestly what has happened to Great Britain. I spoke to the duty manager and he provided words of condolences with no remediation. Absolutely weak beta male behavior and zero care for customers. I was told at checkout I would get a call from the real manager and this has not happened. We were given a begrudgingly £45 off one of the nights stay.

Das Anwesen selber hat sehr schöne Räumlichkeiten sowie Gärten. Wir haben auf Anfrage einen Geburtstagsgruß auf unser Zimmer gestellt bekommen, was sehr nett war.

Leider gab es mehrere Punkte die uns enttäuscht haben. Einzelne Personen des Personals waren schlichtweg unfreundlich: Sie waren bei einfachen Nachfragen extrem genervt und wollten partout nicht helfen. Wir hatten etwas im Zimmer vergessen und haben sage und schreibe vier Emails und fünf Anrufe getätigt - das Hotel hat drei mal versprochen sich dem Fall anzunehmen und uns „später“ oder morgen zurück zu rufen. Es kam kein einziges Mal ein Anruf, eine Mail oder eine Nachricht an uns zurück. So etwas habe ich noch nie erlebt, es war als wollte man aus Prinzip nicht helfen. Darüber hinaus hatten wir leider einen medizinischen Notfall während des Aufenthaltes: Man konnte uns in keiner Weise helfen, was im Bezug auf Medikamente richtig und verständlich war. Allerdings keine andere Hilfe anzubieten, wie die nächstgelegenen Ärzte, Apotheken, etc. zu nennen oder zumindest schon einmal anzubieten durch eine Cola gegen Schwindel zu helfen war zutiefst erschreckend.
