Paying for the use of the pool when advertised with pool

The room was lovely, beautiful scenery. Great girl I think Sophia at check in. Very accommodating.

Check in was a bit of a nightmare, I checked in online and the payment was taken but not showing as checked in. I rang reservations the morning of the day we arrived to explain and he was extremely rude to me. Told me I pay at check in again. When arrived the girl on check in was absolutely brilliant, she upgraded our room which was lovely of her but yes I did pay again. We later went to get dinner but soon found out the restaurant is shut and can't order food. Can only do a buffet which was £30pp! We didn't want to eat that much so we asked if as could have chips. The waiter asked the chef and said the chef said no wedges, no nachos just chips thats it and one bowl! We asked for cheese the waiter come back and said he said no. Couldn't believe it. So we shared a bowl of chips for dinner. We were not informed this was the case and was too late to go out as we already had drinks. We were so hungry. At 9pm I went to run a bath and there was no plug (not an issue) went to reception and asked for a plug she said she would bring me one. 10 minutes later come to the room and said there was a problem with our bath so we couldn't use it! Great room upgrade but wasn't allowed to use the bath so defeated the object of an upgrade for the rudeness of the reservation guy. Such a shame as the hotel is beautiful and most staff perfect and rooms lovely.but our child free night away of relaxation turned into us being angry and not being able to have a nice hot bubble bath. Also no channels on the TVs. Bit of a shame. And paid twice. So after had the hassle of getting a refund.

The receptionist was lovely, the reception area is nice, the spa was good and the bed was comfortable.

It was filthy. There were dubious stains on the sofa in the room, the paint was leaking off the walls, the food area was a mess and there were water damage stains all over the ceilings. It was well past its best and hasn’t been looked after well or kept clean. The dinner was dreadful with rubber fish and unpleasant options.

Even though I had paid for my booking they overbooked and I didn’t have a room, and they didn’t inform me, so when I arrived at 00.30, I had to find another hotel. Customer service was terrible.

Room only had a sky light. Advertised as 'small room with no window' only after you book. The room was actually OK size but for the cost I can see why they are trying to downplay expectations. The ironing board was very tired along with the overall feel of the hotel. Only stayed because friends were playing golf here and would only do so for the same reason
