Travelodge by Wyndham Hope

We came to Hope for a weekend get-a-way from Vancouver and came back with memories for a life time. The hotel has been around for a long time, like many fixtures in this town. That is part of the appeal for us,we want to meet the real people-no influencers necessary. The hotel was clean and well kept for it's age and had everything we could have needed-laundry facility, pool/hot tub, one of the cutest kitchenettes ever, wifi, breaky, a tucked away seating area for a moring tea watching the sun rise...and Nancy🥰. My only complaint had nothing to do with the hotel or staff at all. It had to do with the water buffualo clan that was staying above us. They were incredibly loud, argued loudly, clomped around loudly, constantly dropped heavy things on the floor-then argued about it, loudly, and all before 7am both mornings. They made the most noise out of the entire hotel and there were even kids there, who were well behaved, honestly. I can't imagine being that ignorant or inconsiderate of others in the same space or below me. Checkin was a breeze and the desk clerk was very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. We also met Nancy and she was the most accommodating and really good to us, we will come back and visit her and Princess Chloe, any time we come to Hope. Yes, we will Be Back!! Thank you Travel Lodge for helping us make beautiful memories ❤️.

Hotel was great friendly staff and room was clean. The pool and continental breakfast schedule was a little limited and not convenient for early departure. Overall would recommend!!

Upon arrival it was other worldly with the sign on the door saying "Only two guests at a time in the office." This was further expanded with the glass enclosure and stern demands to remain back from counter and stay behind the glass. Not a congenial atmosphere. So, why bother staying --- we didn't. Gave up the night's fare and found more pleasant accommodations elsewhere. During month long trip to and from Alaska from Florida with different stays each night, this was the most bizarre experience of them all. I was like we were in the Twilight Zone....

Friendly front desk staff easy check in check out

I don’t want to be negative, because it seems to me the hostess is a very unhappy person and I only wish joy upon her. The room itself was fine, and a different employee was very accommodating. I received an email stating that we could not check in after 9:00 pm. We had a 13 hour day on the road and this was a concern for me. I emailed back, stating my concern, but did not receive a reply. This email was sent after the cancellation deadline. I would not recommend and will not be staying there again.

There’s a small book exchange or borrow in the office on the wall. The hot tub was hot, like the rest of the building. The kitchenette had some dishes and a stove! We didn’t die. No on got hurt. We didn’t get robbed. Nothing got vandalized.

They hand wrote my full credit card number on the side of a registration page, so I alerted RBC MC. Hair was everywhere, in the pool (blonde), on the beds (like red wig hair), bathroom (brown), and one long black hair hung from the shelf wire on the door in the fridge. I didn’t point it out to the staff as they were in a mood, close their office early, we also left before they reopened so I couldn’t let them know. The room was excruciatingly hot and despite efforts to cool it, it did not cool until about 4am. While I understand the cost and logistics of replacing the tiny early 2000’s AC wall unit, sleep in a hotel should be cool enough to fall asleep. I was yelled at by another tenant that I was not allowed to park in the only assigned handicap stall, without checking my handicap permit. While I had run down to the truck to grab the Tylenol for my handicap child we had picked up earlier, I was taking 3mins to myself to have a break when this interaction took place. I advised the man that it was my son who needs parking close to entrances, he then proceeded to park within 1.5’ of the passenger side…so wedged in, I back up and relocated from the only handicap stall to allow my son in the morning to be able to load and unload from his assigned seat in the truck (without damaging this fellows newer white GM truck). And ended up almost 200’ further from the door. As I passed the man to get back into the “side door”, I let him know I “moved the truck for your sake as you do not want my son loading into mine while next to yours” and wished him a good night. There are no recognizable ash trays, anywhere. Just a planter, a bucket, and the man described above suggested the wall of the parking lot…the place is likely to burn down and we were sure to review the fire plan in the guest book before bed. The guest book needs updated everything, including the shortened pool hours, office hours and local activities and attractions.

Staff were great. Room was big but is in need of repairs

In the centre of Hope, a comfortable room, TV, big bathroom, coffee and tea. We didn't know there is a swimming pool so it was nice to swim after a long trip. Great place to stay on the way to Vancouver or back.

Late breakfast from 9.30 so we didn't manage to eat because we had to leave after 7 am. The lady in the reception was pretty strange and not too hospitable especially towards children.
