Rooms were clean and updated. Service was great and location was excellent.

The breakfast was not really good for the price of the stay. Coffee and bagels or toast was about the best you could do. They did have waffles but for the price breakfast should have been better.

Since our last stay at John Yancey they have made MAJOR improvements. The new extended boardwalk leading to their new gazebo was great to see. They also cleared out what used to be a weeded area and put out cornhole boards and picnic tables.

The only fault that I had was that the particular room that we had was quite a daily hike thru the breezeway to the boardwalk which led out to the beach. No fault of theirs, but it was tough getting our fully loaded beach buggy and canopy out to the beach every day.

The location, staff, and facilities were wonderful. You couldn’t be in a more convenient location. You can easily walk to a number of restaurants or a very short drive to the supermarket. The rooms and grounds were spotlessly clean and it was very quiet. We really appreciated the quiet hours policy! Also, there are laundry facilities in one of the buildings so we didn’t go home with suitcases full of dirty clothes. They also provide a broom and dustpan in the room so you can clean up sand in between housekeeping visits. There are so many thoughtful details provided by this hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable too.

The only thing I would suggest is to add room key required entry into the buildings. This would provide extra security and sense of safety for guests.

It was a good location with easy beach access. When we checked in, we were given an upgraded room at no extra cost. The staff was very nice. We spilled something on our bed and took the bed linens down to the office and explained the accident. They didn’t make a fuss about it and gave us fresh linens.

The breakfast was nothing special but it was ok.
