"Okay stay for the Value"

Great location- close to SIU, and easy to get to from main road off the highway. Room was good size. Good value money-wise.

Rooms need some work to be updated- numerous cracks in floor tile in bathroom, toilet paper holder in bathroom coming out of wall. Towels are thin and not the softest material. We had a container of breakfast food for quick meal in morning sitting on desk in room & ants got in it overnight.

"Not the best"

The room smelled like mildew, there were bugs and other droppings along the wall and in corners. There was a mystery splatter on the bedskirt. The bathroom door wouldn’t lock and the security latch on the main door was broken off. The body wash was empty in the shower. Would not stay again.

"Next Time, We Will Go Somewhere Else."

If I could I would give this place a 2.5 rating as it seems a little less than average. Lots of little issues. I would rate it better if a one night stay but on longer stays, the details add up. The room was clean enough but bath towels are cheap. The breakfast was better quality than most. The front desk never seems staffed. Turns out the ice machines are limited to first and third floor but the first floor machine was broken. There was no note explaining where to find the ice (we were on second floor and when we could not find the machine on second floor, went to first). The info on the hotel says there is a restaurant and room service. That's false. If in the bar, you can order Indian food from next door and they will bring it over. The pool was out of order; the gym was adequate.

Hotel is not what the photographs show. Property is very old and not updated. Room has crawling insects. Bed was substandard. Bathroom had no exhaust. Walls are all stained.

"It was ok, for what it was"

The first room had a strong wet carpet smell, and the second room did as well, just not as strong. The a/c in the room was also producing quite a lot of moisture which made the room feel a tad “muggy,” but also can explain why there was the smell of a wet carpet.
