The first impression was an older hotel but we never had any issues with a residence inn before no matter how old. The hallway into our room was the first negative. It smelled like wet dog. Fortunately, the room did not smell. Our room was clean on first pass, but we quickly found hairs in both bath tubs (two room suite), on one toilet, and one sink. The bath tubs had old mold or stains in the cracks that made upkeep seem a bottom priority. We were not happy but tolerated the issue for a night. The next day, things seemed ok. We went for breakfast around 09:30 and all the food was gone except waffles. And breakfast had another hour or so to go. We left and we needed are room cleaned but this did not get happen after being gone all day. When we returned to our room, we saw a roach scatter under the stove where what seemed like years of crumbs and debris had been swept instead of into a dust pan. So all in all we had to leave and find another hotel. If all the room are like this, this hotel needs a lot of work.
USThis is our favorite place to stay when we visit family in the metro Detroit area. Very comfortable accommodations in the dead of winter. The staff here are top-notch. We travel- a lot. The people who work here are friendly, welcoming, thoughtful, and hard-working. If you have a need or a problem, they are on it immediately. The building is a little bit older, but it feels like home. We come here every December and the staff is consistently excellent. The location is perfect for quick freeway access for travel all around the metro area. Grocery stores and restaurants are near by as well.
USThe breakfast
A couple things didn’t work in the room and the in room furnace was extremely loud and noisy. I was told told they had cribs, they don’t. It’s a pack and play.

TWParking not adequate for seniors to navigate to rooms. No good signage to assist in room location. Had to go out of building to access breakfast. Thank goodness weather cooperated.
