Super 8 by Wyndham Keokuk

Stayed here for four nights on a work trip because the other national chains were full. I have basic expectations when it comes to discount hotel chains, but those expectations include cleanliness and basic upkeep. The bathroom was visibly dirty with grime and hair around the edges of the floor, and the counter had hair as well. Outside at the front of the property facing the road, there was an abandoned shopping cart right next to a decorative light fixture with broken glass globes on it. Kind of looks like the owner/manager lost their give a damn.

I've chosen this property several times when I come to Keokuk. It is clean and well-equipped, and a better value for me than other hotels in the area. The food service has improved over the past year, and although it isn't as lavish as other hotel chains, it is adequate, considering the more reasonable room rates.

The young gentleman at the front desk was so friendly. The cleanliness was average, but we just used the space to sleep. So it was fine. Breakfast was a nice selection. Other staff were friendly as well.

The price was the main motivation for booking here. Water pressure and temperature in our room was very good.

After check in, realized the mattress are pretty hard, like I didn’t know they sold mattresses that hard. The exhaust fan in bathroom didn’t work. And the air conditioner/ heater had some difficulties keeping room at steady temp.

The accommodation made for my family without me asking or knowing it was ever an option, and the price remained the same as what I originally booked.

Good clean place to sleep, easy to find and plenty of parking. The breakfast was just waffle and cold cereal but clean and supervised by helpful, friendly staff. Only negatives was the menu for breakfast and the shower to bath valve allowed water to come out of tub spout and limited the volume of water coming out of showerhead. Small cons but lots of pros, so if you're looking for a quiet , clean comfortable place to sleep, this is for you.

The property is old and not as good as I had expected from the pictures on booking.com. There was no secondary curtain so it you open the curtain you are totally visible from outside - so I didn’t.
