Super 8 by Wyndham Norton VA

We were in a group occupying 5 rooms and all 5 had a very bad mildew smell and one room had active mold on the walls. The only breakfast was a coffee pot and a basket of muffins in the hallway, no seating area.

Check in nighttime manager had a drunk guy hitting on her in the lobby. Warned about keys on propertty demagnatizing easily. Walking into the room, it smelled of mildew and stale cigarettes. The poop stain on the wall by the empty toilet paper holder was remarkable, as was the staining of dirt in the tub. The remote for the TV functioned only to turn the TV on and off. (Nothing else about the remote was functional.) And there was no breakfast service.

The rooms we booked were both not as clean you expect and smelled terrible! Floors were not clean in room or bathroom.

Obviously, this is not a four-star hotel and I was not expecting that kind of service, but I also was not expecting this level of disrepair and disdain. The hotel itself is rundown and quite sad with worn, outdated furniture, no elevator, and no working ice or vending machines. Our room had a terrible odor and wet carpet that never did dry out. They do not offer the "breakfast item" as described, and actually laughed when my husband asked about it. On the positive side, the internet worked, the bed was relatively comfortable, and it was along our travel route. That's about all I can say.

Online and even in the lobby with a big sign it's advertised there's breakfast offered but they do not offer any. I thought all Super 8s were supposed to have breakfast. The hotel is tun down but the room was clean. We asked for a late check out so my boyfriend could stay in the room while I visited my grandma in the nursing home. He came to pick me up and when we returned housekeeping had put all of our stuff in a trash bag and moved it to the laundry room and it was still before our late check out time. So then we had to kill time and drive around until my aunt was available to have lunch with us.

Mold in the bathroom and bugs in the room. The entire establishment smelled like marijuana and the desk staff was rude. Ended up leaving early because of nasty conditions and was also told that no refund could be issued for the nights I wouldn’t be staying because we had already paid in full.

I rate my visit poor this time. The motel was very run down since the last time we stayed. No breakfast offered any more and no coffee in the foyer (empty) and the commode was broken. Wont be staying again unless improvements are made. Also higher prices and worse service. Thank you

Clean room, bathroom and adequate bedding resulted in a good nights rest.

Very outdated inside except for the flat screen tv. Room is very clean, but heat and air is from the 80’s and loud. The bed is just ok, not all that comfortable, but appeared clean. Bathroom was clean, light lickered. Smoke alarm beeped because the battery required changing.

Don't let them put you near the elevator or the door. It's loud!
