Iruka Onsen Hotel Seiryuusou

Lovely location, very quiet, great views of the river from our room. The onsen was great! Breakfast was an interesting experience for someone not familiar with japanese food! Delicious but largely unrecognisable foods :D

I had the most amazing time at this place in mid August. The staff, the location, the facilities - everything was so perfect. Everyone was so hospitable and kind to me even though I was a foreigner. I rented a bike nearby and the staff at the onsen were incredibly helpful and patient. I enjoyed thoroughly my full course dinner and breakfast, which was insane value for the price! The meals had enormous portions. My room and all of the facilities were very clean and very well maintained. I Definitely will be returning on my next trip to Japan. Thank you!

I liked the room. It was nice sized and very clean. It had nice Hospitality of tea. I like the bath area. It was kept very clean and organized. The water was a nice temperature. The restaurant attached had nice prices and the food was prepared and present it well. Both dinner and the breakfast servings we're good. Staff was excellent from the hotel staff to the restaurant staff. It is a good location if you're traveling along the Kumano Kodo Iseji Route if you don't want the bus ride from Kumano City.

I do not think this is a five-star hotel as shown in the rating. The upstairs area where I was at had lots of dust and cobwebs around the light fixtures. In the bath area they had massage chairs which was really nice but look to be getting worn through and the material. They had wonderful hospitality downstairs by the front desk including a coffee machine however it would be nice to have had coffee in the room in addition to tea.

Fairly nice meals throughout my 2 night stay. Really nice facilities and onsen bath view. The outdoor one at sunset is really relaxing. There is a co-ed area between the baths to enjoy the view as well. Great location, close to the gorge.

The kaiseki meals were good but underwhelming in terms of flavor. Wish they were more memorable.
