Hotel Islander Bonaire

I did not have breakfast nor did I utilize the package offered, so I am unable to provide an informed opinion on that aspect. However, the location is excellent—situated in the heart of a vibrant area with shops, the beach, and a wide variety of restaurants all within easy walking distance. Additionally, the pricing is quite reasonable, though naturally it may vary depending on individual preferences. My stay was quite dynamic, as I spent most of my time actively exploring the area, various hotels, and the natural beauty of the island of Bonaire. I was deeply impressed by the island’s charm, its warm and hospitable people, and the pride they take in their homeland. I thoroughly enjoyed the wide array of local cuisine and dining experiences offered at the island's many restaurants, as well as visits to several notable tourist attractions. Additionally, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with some friends who reside on this beautiful island. Bonaire is absolutely worth a visit. While the island may be small in size, it is rich in culture, authenticity, and tranquility—an ideal destination for those seeking meaningful experiences in a peaceful setting.

The facility through Booking.com allows guests to make a direct reservation for the room type they prefer. This was done on my behalf approximately three weeks in advance. However, despite this straightforward request, the hotel ultimately failed to fulfill the agreed-upon accommodation. That said, I appreciate that, following extensive negotiations, a compromise was reached in which I was at least provided with a room that included a modest window, allowing some natural daylight during the morning. The room itself had three doors: one serving as the main entrance, and two additional doors on the right-hand side of the room. Unfortunately, none of these auxiliary doors had locks or any form of secure latch, raising significant concerns about privacy and safety. As a result, anyone with minimal skill from an adjacent room could potentially access the space unexpectedly, with all the potential consequences that such a security lapse may entail—for either the guest or any involved parties. Behind the bed, there was also an inaccessible switch, along with exposed wiring and a poorly maintained wall, which could pose health risks—especially for individuals with allergies, as dust accumulation in such conditions can be problematic. Moreover, the bed linens were torn or had visible holes in various areas. These were not changed regularly during room cleaning. Instead, attempts were made to conceal the damaged and unclean parts of the sheets and pillows with the bed covers. Additionally, the room I occupied lacked any "Do Not Disturb" signage—neither in physical form nor digitally—contrary to what was depicted in promotional photos of the hotel. This absence further undermined the sense of privacy and guest control over their environment.

The only real advantage of this hotel is its central location—it’s easy to walk to many restaurants nearby. However, everything else about the stay was frustrating. There is no clear entrance to the hotel, and no staff is present at the front desk, which makes it very difficult to get help when needed. The noise from the street traffic is constant and loud, and at night, the entire room shakes from the music coming from the “Bubble” venue on the ground floor. There were multiple issues with the rooms—I had to change rooms three times during my stay. The old air conditioning units either didn’t work or were unbearably loud. If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing trip, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The location is great. There are a lot of restaurants and shops around. The room was very nice.

The privacy. That was really nice

That you have to go thru a restaurant to get to the hotel. First day it was really awkward.. but then we got used to it and it was pretty fine. We like the fact that no one bothers you at all when you thru. You say hi and walk thru to the stairs.
