Sitio dos Cavaleiros Daily Serviced Apartments

Quality of furnishing throughout and all equipment (kitchen etc) was of a really high standard. Laura met us at reception (despite our being several hours late due to flight delay) and was always available with help and advice. Would stay again in the future on any return trip to Lisbon.

The staff was super friendly and helpful with many recommendations on where to go and eat. The apartment was sparkling clean. The bathroom and kitchen were very modern. The wifi was super fast.

The rooms were tiny but manageable. The apartment is in the city center close to everything, but the neighborhood is full of homeless people sleeping on the street and doing drugs, but it is not dangerous. We felt safe. There is a lot of garbage throughout the neighborhood.

This boutique hotel is situated partway up the Sao Jorge hill, just behind the Alfama district, which is considered to be the oldest neighbourhood in Lisbon. The location is ideal for walking to many historic sites and centres in Lisbon, including the traditionally Moorish Alfama (which, unlike much of Lisbon, was not destroyed by the 1755 earthquake), the impressive Castelo de Sao Jorge at the top of the hill, and the elegant Baixa district (which was impressively rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake). The narrow, medieval street out front runs along the line of the well-known Number 28 tram sightseeing line. There is a large bus station nearby at the bottom of the hill, however, taxis and Ubers in Lisbon are plentiful and inexpensive, so we did not make use of any of the buses. The hotel itself is immaculately maintained, modern, and comfortable. Like many of Europe's ancient cities, space is at a premium so the rooms are not especially large, but they are intelligently designed for efficient use of space. We appreciated the comfortable beds and efficient climate control. The hotel staff were absolutely wonderful: friendly, efficient, communicative, and very helpful. We could not have been more pleased with the service. The only challenge with this hotel was that, because it is located along the narrow streets of the medieval town, there is no on-site parking. Parking in Lisbon (especially in the Alfama area) is very difficult and crowded. You may be lucky enough to find overnight parking up the hill, along the Largo Portas do Sol, which boasts one of the most beautiful promenades and pracas in Portugal. We decided to return the rental car early and make do with taxis and Ubers, which again are quite useful in Lisbon. Based on location, comfort, and the extremely helpful staff, this hotel is an ideal base for a historical tour of Lisbon. We highly recommend it.

Very conveniently located … straddles baixa and amalfa areas — 10-15 min walk to each … uphill for amalfa viewpoints and the castle. Metro stop Martin Moniz, starting point of tram 28 are down the street. Grocery store right across .. souvenir shops in the same street as opposed to expensive ones in touristy areas.. We walked to amalfa, San apolonia station for our train to Porto, baixa, castle and the church.. all within 15mins The street does give some vibes of being unsafe but u soon realize the adjoining street has a lot of immigrants so they are just settling into the city and hanging around the square The interiors are updated , - 1 room with a queen bed / the other with 2 beds — all kitchen appliances and an in-room washer plus dryer . Though we had to use a drying rack for our thick winter joggers and hoodies. Very gracious staff and the Christmas presents from them was a definite plus ..

The apartment location was extremely convenient to many restaurants, shops, and attractions. It was a very easy walk to the Metro, which provided links to multiple locations around Lisbon and beyond. Laura from Sitio dos Cavaleiros Apartments was extremely friendly and provided a plethora of information about dining options and things to do around Lisbon. The apartment was extremely well furnished and very comfortable. It allowed for the opportunity to exerpience the wonderful views and sounds of the of the very quaint street below, but also was extremely quiet when the windows were closed. The historic #12 tram passes directly past the apartment and it is a quick walk to to pick-up point. Additionally, If you don't mind walking up hill, Saint George's castle and many other attractions are a short distance away. The busy Baixa District, with it's multiple restaurants, shops, and ocean views can be easily reached via a short walk or via tram or metro. The Rossio train staion can also easily be accessed on foot or metro. Overall, the experience was extremely enjoyable and the apartment provided almost all of the comforts of home.

I can't really think of anything that could have improved the stay.

Good space, clean and well finished. Very good kitchen facilities. Tea and coffee supplies topped up each day. Dishwasher and washing machine soap provided.

We were 2 hours early and were told the room was ready. There was someone on reception but we were not allowed to check in early unless willing to pay an extra 45 euro. Not sure why this was. It seemed unnecessarily steep for just being able to access our room slightly early. Obviously we didn’t.
