Days Inn by Wyndham Eagan Minnesota Near Mall of America

I went here not knowing what to expect, and the overall hotel impressed me - at first. Nice rooms, beds were ok, and they have some extra amenities. What surprised me was the lack of even a drinking fountain - they told me to go to the opposite end of the hotel and go in the exercise room to use the machine there. Well the machine didn't work, and - I kid you not - they said they had to fill it back up with water and that a guy usually does that at 4am. Lol. If that isn't the measure of cheap I don't know what is. The towels smelled and felt iffy, the sheets and pillows were fine, the ac didn't make noises, and there's even a sauna. Is the pool area or even the workout center nice? Not really. The equipment is old and is basically there to say they have a workout room. The sauna door doesn't shut tightly so good luck getting it hot. There were literal cockroaches floating in the hot-tub and one in the light above my bed. I found a bed bug on my shower floor towel. Yikes. The whole place seems newly painted which was nice, and it was very quiet which is a huge plus. I might stay here again, but the cockroaches were weird.

Location was convenient for us as it was near the family we were visiting. I enjoyed my walks in the hallways and up and own the stairs.

The shower was difficult to adjust and the shower floor was VERY slippery.

Price was good, location was good.

Hard beds, small bathroom, thin walls (could hear kid crying for HOURS)

The guy at the desk was helpful if a bit underprepared when I arrived. The breakfast was solid. It was nice that there was a pool. I liked the corner room and the showers.

I booked two rooms when I checked in I had to remind them there should be a second for me. Then that room had a weird burning smell and a flickering light. Our other room, a corner room, was mostly fine besides a random dirty pillow behind the couch and one of the lights above the bed had a cover that was falling off. The 4th floor vaguely smelled like cigarettes but maybe ot was that strange burnt smell. There were stains all over the carpet especially in the stairwell. There was gueats shputing outside my in laws room that no one addressed. It was all just a bit rpugh, even for a cheap place where my expectations were low.

The rooms were really nice.

No tub, the hot tub jets didnt work and the breakfast wasnt kid friendly. No juice and no hot foods like most hotels/motels have.

I like the customer service

There was no breakfast everything was so basic. The apples were old. It was only hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and bread.
