The Georgian House

Our kingsize bed was really comfortable and we loved our room. Keith and Sharon are lovely and made us feel very welcome. They cook a delicious full-English breakfast to order. It’s right in the heart of Watchet. We’ve stayed here four times and love it!

The shower could be better

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The full English breakfast was very good. The hotel was quirky and interesting. The location was very central. Instructions were clear and proactive

The bathroom in our room (the Yellow Room) was very tired and in need of modernisation. The toilet had a very noisy macerator system (due to the Grade 2 listing of the very old property), the in-bath shower was barely more than a trickle, the bath panel was coming off, and it was all a little tired and in need of some TLC.

Full of character, old style decor to match the name. Do not expect ultra modern as it would not fit into this preserved Georgian property. We stayed in the yellow room overlooking the front. Clean room with all you need for your stay. Keith the owner met us on our arrival a lovely gentleman, Sharon the housekeeper was on hand to look after us at breakfast and what a breakfast they provide. Only one sitting which is at 09.00, suited us but may not suit everyone. All in all a lovely guest house with fantastic hosts close to the harbour & esplanade. We certainly will be returning when in the area.

No free parking but paid parking close by.

There was no set aside parking! And NO commentary as to how to arrange an alternative.

Great location, very handy for the West Somerset railway, in the centre of town. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff and packed with interesting antiques.

Toilet a bit noisy, but nothing too bad.

It was perfect for our stay. There’s no parking, but plenty of public car parks situated close by.

Wonderful host; delightful building and location; lovely room; great breakfast. And a wonderful pub around the corner where there was an evening of shanty songs when I stepped on.
