Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront

I love the accessibility near the high street. The lobby smells lovely. Very classy and the gym is a huge plus. The view of the seafront.

I liked everything.

I like the location which is on the water front, and being able to walk everywhere. I liked the spacious feeling of the reception, bar and restaurant as you enter the hotel, which was all situated in the one space. The restaurant staff were friendly on the occasions I ate there. Helpful. My room was spacious with a full sea view. I had all that I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable . Everywhere was clean and to a high standard. I did not use the spa facilities. I stayed a total of 4 nights.

The lift to the reception was out of order when I arrived ( from the street ). I had 2 large cases plus carry on. I approached reception having left my bags on the lower floor to ask for help from reception ( no separate concierge). They were busy on phones, and it took a few minutes to gain their attention. A kind staff member could see my frustration, and helped me get my bags from the lower floor to my bedroom. The young receptionist who checked me in wasn’t friendly and quite cold. It wasn’t a good check in experience for me. I tried calling for room service on one occasion ( twice ) without success. The pillows are the hardest I have ever encountered. I called down to housekeeping to see if they have a softer pillow anywhere. They did bring me a pillow, but it was just as hard as the others. It may be worth investing in some softer pillows because not everyone likes hard pillows, my neck gets very sore. I was on level 3 and despite putting the card out for room servicing, it was never completed before 3.30pm. I would return from going out, and the room was still not serviced. It was an executive room, and I would have expected it to be more of a priority. I could not understand that when I left in the morning, they were cleaning rooms next door and around me, but not doing my room ? The lift from the street level to reception was out of order all weekend and I noted a couple of single people like myself struggling to get to reception / the car park. I think it should have been a priority to get this repaired.
