MountainView Hotel Merritt

The hotel has had a refit and looks good its not high end but either is the price ,i will come back ,the airconditioner in my room wasnt cold ,but i was happy with how clean it is

For $161.00 we were given a sparsely furnished room with one queen bed. The advertisement on Expedia said a room for 4 people (Queen bed and pull-out couch). It was the most expensive, had the fewest ammenities, and was the least welcoming of all the hotels we stayed in on our trip from Vancouver Island through to Alberta. When I spoke to the girl at the desk she said "do you really need a couch" and "how would I know there was no couch in the room". Then, "it was likely a dirty couch and was taken out for cleaning. Do you want a dirty couch". The girl was not the least bit welcoming to the point of being rude. On a positive note the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was small but newly renovated. This experience made us wary of booking online unless we had booked the hotel/motel before, or it was a member of a chain. I want to get what I paid for without argument.

Our host was very accommodating and helpful with late check in and had a great breakfast with waffles and fruit ready in the morning… He credited the manager but he was what made it great; will be back!

Advertising a pool but doesn’t have one. You have to walk 2 blocks to an affiliated hotel that’s is also outdated, unclean,and unheated. No elevator.

The lobby was bright and spacious, with beautiful music playing softly and we were greeted with a friendly smile at reception. I had made an error in thinking I had reserved a room with two beds and when explained, we were graciously given a room to suite our particular needs, without any fanfare or further explanation. There was nothing we didn't like. We loved everything about our stay and the beds were super comfortable. Thank you Mountain View Motel
