The property was within walking distance to the Thursday evening farmers market. Good food, entertainment and a fun vibe.
Nicely up-dated room with everything functioning in good order. Front desk helped us extend our stay and provided map with dining recommendations. We breakfasted at House of Bread just across street. Walked or bused from Marsh & Archer into downtown SLO, enjoying Mission, Art Museum, History Ctr, and abundant shopping, plus Thursday night Farmers' Market.
We liked the place as a whole. the whole deal was perfect and we enjoyed it very much, especially the guy at the reception desk and the sevice we got from him even though we only stayed for one night.
We went to SLO to visit the Mission and Hearst Castle. The Avenue Inn was located in a perfect spot and at an affordable price. We took the train there so we used public transportation alot, and luckily the buses stopped right in front of the Inn. The staff was friendly and attentive. They provided us with extra coffee when requested, and were very helpful in guiding us through the downtown region.
Everything is a fee. Ask to check in early? $50 per hour. Check out late, $50 per hour. Don't turn in room keys, FEE! Location and base rate are good, but beds are hard, and water is lukewarm on a good day.
Enjoyed my stay. Love that they offer little extras like additional blanket, pillow, etc. Would stay again.
The receptionist was friendly, walkable place. Nice stay, will stay again!
