"Ideal spot for big celebrations, especially if attended by multiple people arriving by car."

8.0

Really handy for M40 junction and attending a family event. Good selection of rooms. Helpful restaurant staff.

Front desk receptionist could improve on customer skills. Only one towel in room for couple. Restaurant menu very limited and kitchen closes at 8:30 prompt.

Location is superb, met with friendly staff. Was in middle of a heat wave so we asked for an extra fan for the room, which was provided no hassle. We stayed in suite 101 which was in a small building set in a quiet area of the grounds, its an excellent space, living area with Sofa (converted into bed for our child) dining table & 4 chairs plenty of storage space, dressing tables, fridge, coffee machine & kettle. Large bed (very firm mattress) in separate area to living space giving some privacy. There was 2 tvs too not that we really used them. Bathroom with separate bath & stand alone shower which is nice to have both. Theres a few carparking spaces next to the suite & a small outside terrace area with pond water feature. We had breakfast which was included in the nightly rate, buffet style full English & continental was available.

Theres not much to say here to be honest, I would say the mattress is incredibly firm and I did struggle, I suffer with hip & back problems & im a side sleeper but couldn't sleep on side with this mattress. Breakfast was nice what we had but... It was busy, plates, dishes & often food was empty for periods of time. After 4 failed visits for some fruit & yoghurt i had to ask for a bowl, a small pile did arrive. Beware the hot plates for the hot buffet are absolutely boiling even with napkins they still burn through. Many people almost dropped plates as they got them out as they were far too hot to handle. Just a few niggles & it was a busy Bank Holiday Monday in a heat wave so staff did well considering.

"Spacious suite, but very tired, overpriced and with serious cleanliness issues"

6.0

The suite was large and spacious, and it had its own private parking spaces, which made unloading luggage very easy. The hotel is also in a good location, directly next to the National Trust Charlecote Park car park, which was very convenient for visiting Charlecote Park. From the outside, the hotel grounds and the mix of old and newer buildings look quite attractive. Breakfast was okay, with both English and continental options available.

We paid £175 for one night in a suite with breakfast for two people in mid-May, and unfortunately it felt very overpriced for what was offered. The whole place felt very dated and in need of proper maintenance. The suite was spacious, but it had no real structure or thoughtful layout. The fridge was just standing in one corner, while the kettle and other facilities were in a completely different area. There were no plug sockets by the bed, the lighting was poorly planned, and the furniture was worn and not entirely clean. The room had carpet and generally did not feel very clean. There were some mould spots on the walls, and the bathroom was also not completely clean. The worst part was that we found around 20 clothes moths in the room, which we had to kill first. We really hope we did not bring any of them home with us. When we mentioned this at checkout, the receptionist initially just said it was probably because of the warm weather. Only after I pointed out again that these were clothes moths and that the hotel really needed to do something about it did she say she would pass it on. We travelled with a baby under one year old and had provided the age in advance. We had also requested a baby cot, which was shown as an option for this suite on Booking.com. However, there was no baby cot in the room when we arrived. Instead, the sofa bed had been opened, which was completely unsuitable for a baby under one year old. To be honest, it was also unsuitable for an adult or for anyone of any age. The metal sprung base was extremely worn out and sagged badly. After asking again, we were finally given a baby travel cot. Breakfast was okay, but the dishes and cutlery were not always properly clean. The outside areas are nice in principle, but they also need work. For example, if someone wanted to use the tennis court, they would first have to clear away leaves and branches. Overall, the hotel has potential, but in its current condition it felt far too expensive.

"Pretty hotel with great staff in a beautiful area"

9.0

This hotel is set in a stunning little village about a 15 minute drive into Stratford and 20 minutes to Warwick. The staff are some of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. The garden is ideal for anyone bringing a dog. I do like the fact that the bedrooms are separate from the Reception/Restaurant area. This minimises noise disturbance. The bedrooms are very spacious.

The buffet breakfast was just okay. No tomatoes! And the only fresh fruit was melon. The bedroom walls, as in most hotels, are paper thin. I could hear my neighbour sneeze!

"Staff are a real credit.. but don’t stay in Room 21!"

1.0

Convenient location and very customer focused staff.

We were delighted the hotel accepted a late booking as we had a tiny dog but on arrival we had a major issue with our room cleanliness and standard - which the staff courteously and fully resolved with a credit. We have strongly recommended a room inspection and serious upgrade for this ‘disabled access’ room. Other rooms in the hotel looked very well appointed, there are pleasant grounds with good parking and the ‘pub style’ food was prettygood - as was breakfast the next day. Staff are very courteous and very helpful. Some public areas are a bit tired and would benefit from investment in a refurb and tighter cleaning efforts.

"Nice food friendly staff, bedrooms in need of some TLC"

3.0

Evening meal food is very nice. Waiting and bar staff friendly and efficient, Breakfast is buffet. location is right next to national trust. bus stop into Stratford upon Avon at the end of the drive

Rooms need a refresh carpet had some stains. Redecoration is needed. Shower raiser was not attached firmly and came away in my hand. Split broken toilet seat was replaced once reported, but was told maintenance did not work at the weekend. Was not informed that walk in shower could not be accommodated until day before check in. Had to go outside from main hotel restaurant to get to bedrooms.

"food good facilities average accommodation organisation poor"

4.0

Well located the busses were not running regularly due to road works. A taxi ride varied in price from £11 to £26 both taken same day food was nice large parties are catered for well. Waiting staff very friendly especially our waitress Abbie. We had. Larger table of 11 for a meal everything arrived correctly at the same time and hot.

Rooms are worn and need some maintenance. Shower rail loose. Wallpaper hanging in places paint needed some stains on carpet. You needed to go outside to get to all our rooms. Request for room with walk in shower was not accommodated. We were not informed until the booking had got to the point of no full refunds meaning no shower for the duration of the stay. When I queried that I was told other room s had requested then and had been booked earlier. We booked about a month ahead of time. They did not allocate rooms until the day before the stay. Most of the room ms involved waking up flights of stairs without any lift facilities
