"Average hotel with disappointing aspects"

Average hotel and below average service at best, location ok but not the best, a bit far from major sites, generally 30+ minutes uber ride due to traffic. Despite the reservation being in USD the hotel refuses to charge in USD and uses an inflated exchange rate resulting in a higher rate than the reservation, the manager refused to honor the reservation rate in USD and said that they could only charge in USD with an American Express card! Older building with noise coming through pipes from bad HVAC systems with upper floors being worse affecting sleep and no heat in the room, even with thermostat set at a higher temp the system blew cold air (in a suite). On the day of my departure they had power interruptions and even with the power restored the elevator stopped working and I had to carry my luggage down 7 floors and they did not offer help. Contrary to other reviews I did not find good restaurant nearby although safe to walk in the area. Terrible old lighting in the rooms and weird non-standard electric outlets, couldn’t not plug in my USB adapters! The hotel staff in the lobby seemed to just hang around and never offered any greeting or help, even worse, when I was sitting in the lobby one of them stood right behind me and played loud annoying music on his cell phone, I moved to a different area to avoid him. Ok hotel but you can find better locations and better service. As an elite lifetime member of Marriott I was disappointed with this and another Marriott member hotel (LeMeridien) in Mexico City.

"Ok stay, maybe better when not in “fixing things season”"

Nice looking lobby/bar area. Taxi info posted and readily available

I was told it was “down season”, a time of year when they “fix” things as an excuse for a couple of things: cold water shower one of the days and elevator not in service one of the days.
