"Inhuman disgusting and a scam"

2.0

I came here with family on the outside in the front and lobby I thought the resort was very pretty, I liked most of it. Our check in was at 3 and while arriving they hadn’t even started cleaning or preparing our room. The outside in the back is ghetto and ran down. The room wasn’t better. From the dingy ceilings and tile floors to the mold smell coming from the AC. The beds were uncomfortable and disappointing. The only thing that I barely enjoyed was the beach. The morning after the first night I went to breakfast. I was amazed by the birds but soon absolutely disgusted by the sight of them being tied up to post. This is inhumane and terrible. I’m not necessarily an animal advocate but I have good enough morals to know that doing this just for tourist attractions is cruel to the animals. I can’t put into words how terrible I felt, I had to stop eating my nasty, bland and boring breakfast. I hated my stay here and this needs to stop. Do more and do better.

"Coco reef resort and spa ....paradise"

10.0

I spent 14 days at the coco reef resort and spa in January 2025. It was my first time in the Caribbean but as a world traveller I knew what to expect and it didn't disappoint. The hospitality was second to none (I have too many names to mention) but from Esther at the front desk to Simon, Shinelle and Junette to mention just a few,as a single traveller, I felt welcomed from day one. The accommodation is dat

I think the place is too over priced, you can get better for value for money. Area when the sea is barrier off, is useless...too shallow and confined to have a good swim.

This was not my first time staying at this resort. On this occasion the resort was very quiet which I appreciated, as I really just wanted a relaxing time. In the past I must say that the customer service I got was way better than this time. The wait staff were great but the front desk staff made us feel like we had to beg for service. For example, on more than one occasion, they would see us approaching the desk and they would exit into the office behind the desk. I was a bit turned off by this.

"Great hotel and lovely holiday"

10.0

Just returned from 14 nights at Coco Reef, we had a great holiday and all really enjoyed our stay. The beach is amazing, never a problem getting a sunbed, clean sand and the lagoon brilliant to see all the fish and to do the watersports. The main restaurant has open sides and looks out to sea giving an amazing setting whilest eating. We were all inclusive and can not complain about any of the meals, ok a couple of dinners were a bit slow but once served you forgot about that. We enjoyed the cocktails & rum & cokes. We had 3 rooms and we were lucky that they were all next to each other, also we were upgraded with no extra cost. Each room was a good size with comfortable beds, pillows could be renewed as they weren't the best. The rooms were cleaned each day. The only thing for us which let the hotel down is the state of the bathrooms, we did have plenty of hot water for showering, but they are well worn and definetaly need a make over although I do realise this will be a large undertaking. Maintenance on the hotel is happening all the time. Finally for us the staff were a bonus being friendly and helpful.

"Much Improved"

10.0

My wife and I have visited Coco Reef numerous times over the past 21 years and have seen a gradual decline in standards and amenities, but that has all changed. The new manager, Mr Adian Grant, promised improvements when we were there last year, and boy has he delivered. New decking and new furniture in Bachannals, new parasols on the beaches, improved plumbing in the form of new shower heads and taps and a new Executive Chef who has rung the changes in the restaurants. Completely new menus and excellent food. We did not have a poor meal throughout our 17-day stay. Our room was kept clean and tidy by a conscientious Claudia. It is obvious that the jewel in the hotel's crown is its staff. In particular we would like to mention Elizabeth, Janelle, Esther, Claudia, Merrisa, Keishelle, Beverley, Roxanne, Patrice, Simon and Chanel (amongst others) each one of whom ensured we enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing holiday. Evening entertainment was good, especially Lynette and Steven. My wife and I will return.

"Lovely location, but very average resort."

6.0

Just arrived back after 11 nights at Coco Reef and despite being in a fantastic location with a beautiful clear lagoon we were a little dissatisfied. Check in was quick but simply not given enough information about the hotel, facilities or dining. The one page information sheet was very basic and more showing what was not included in the “all inclusive “. We were fully aware of the bathroom situation prior to visiting, however generally the room was cleaned every day and acceptable but basic. Bath/shower water was always hot but pressure could be helped with a new shower head. Towels changed if left in the bath, however sometimes only left with one bath towel or no hand towel. Good food choices at breakfast for hot food, but very little fruit and no variation, empty items do not always get replenish, so best not to leave it too late. Lunch was very hit and miss, better if a menu was available but the buffet and BBQ lacked choice or quality in our opinion and was very poor. Also unfortunately the young man cooking the BBQ was very much out of his depth in both cooking and hygiene. Again dinner was acceptable and sometimes very good but only if ordering off the menu in the upstairs restaurant. However service was very slow, even for Caribbean time, again evening dining was spoilt by too many cheap BBQs and outside buffets. There were plenty of sun beds available on the beach at all times and we had no trouble changing our towels every couple of days ( the towels are very small, so I would suggest taking your own to fully cover the sun bed). Unfortunately the worst aspect to the hotel are most members of the staff, you certainly do not get Caribbean hospitality here and they most certainly need some training in the hospitality industry, in fact some are downright rude ! Other disappointments for us was the lack of sparking wine or a Bailey’s on the all inclusive, the very poor quality of the wine selection and the lack of entertainment. The Saturday night singer repeated the same jokes and songs on both evenings. Coco Reef was probably as much as expected and researched on here but with some disappointments, however it has ticked the Tobago box but there is much better available in the Caribbean.

Everything was perfect. We stayed for 3 days but it felt like a month. The food was great, I wish I could get the recipe for the fried bakes. The water was perfect and so calm. Kayaking and snorkeling with the kids was a dream come true. It’s so close to restaurants and pigeon point so we had so many options and all were affordable. There were a lot of seagulls on the rocks, if Coco Reef wanted t hire me to use an airrifle to get rid of them I would gladly work in exchange for a room and breakfast. That would be my happily ever after ❤️
