Salty Dog Hostel

IThis was my second time here, and I'm just as thrilled as the first time. For me, this hostel is and always will be the best. The people here, the staff, the owner Arif and his family—everything is fantastic. Arif helps you with everything and treats you like family. It's always wonderful to come back. The hostel is clean and very cozy, located between the two main surf spots. There's also a lovely terrace right on the water where you can watch the sunsets. And once a week they have homemade pizza. I simply love this place.

The people here where so helpful, everything you need they will help you with that. I had an amazing time here, would recommend this to everyone!!!

Staff is nice and group of people we met interesting. It's really a budget accomodation but feels like place is falling apart a bit and needs lots of work, care and maintenance. That's how we felt. Make sure you agree on taxi price in advance too.

Best vibe in a hostel i every felt. So nice people, nice common area. We have been there twice. The second time was like coming home. Hope to come back there. Thanks for all

The hostel is on the waterfront and had great sunset views. Staff and family were friendly and available for short rides Into town for shopping and restaurant meals. The kitchen was also available and adequately stocked with basics for cooking.

The hostel is waterfront but there is no beach. There is however a covered patio area right up to the waters edge. I originally booked the smaller private room but upgraded to a bigger room with a better window for more natural light.

It was only 1 night as I was passing through. The welcome was wonderful the staff lovely. The guests at the time were a lovely mix of delightful characters!

The fact I would have liked to stay longer!

We werden opgehaald door de zoon van Arif op het vliegveld. Heel fijn om privé vervoer te regelen van te voren. De kamer was heel groot en de locatie is prachtig. Het ligt aan een baai waar je kan zwemmen met een mooie zonsondergang. Het ontbijt was ook lekker, meestal noodles met kruiden en kroepoek. Met Arif hadden we hele diepe intellectuele gesprekken. Het was heel fijn om met een local te kunnen praten en te leren over de NIAS cultuur.

Er was geen handzeep in de badkamer. App contact liep af en toe wat traag. Het was niet volledig goed geïsoleerd waardoor er veel muggen op de kamer waren.
