La Mar de Bien Tayrona

We will definitely return to this paradise. We loved the accommodations, the food, the grounds with beautiful trees and flowers, the wonderful staff especially Juan who made our visit so peaceful and beautiful as he arranged the dinner on the beach with flower petals and a bonfire for my daughter and her boyfriend who took this occasion to propose marriage! We adored the long pool where I could swim laps, and last, but not least, the empty beach where we could enjoy the lovely sea and view of the mountains. It was especially nice to enjoy the sea and beach at sunrise! Oh, and one more thing- the birds were stunning with their colors and songs, great for a bird watcher like me!

Everything was amazing. If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing place to unwind with great food and amazing staff, this is the place. Drink and food service at the beach and pool. Highly Recommend the mixed ceviche. Massages on site. Hot water showers and breakfast with several options to choose from. Good WiFi. You can also hike to a nearby waterfall for the afternoon. Highly recommended. I will be back when I can stay longer!

A suggestion would be to provide information for the bus system for the larger busses back to Santa Marta. Otherwise I can think of anything else.

This hotel is small and therefore few people. It almost feels like you have the full place exclusively to yourself. Peaceful stay, but a bit of music near the pool and bar would make it more lively.

The unpaved road to reach this hotel from the main road is quite long and hard to reach with suitcases. But the main downer is the restaurant that you are forced to eat at as there’s no nearby restaurant. On arrival we sat down for lunch of two persons. Right before us a table of 6 placed an order as well and there were no other tables. The entire order with starters and mains were served first to their table before ours were served and we only had mains. They should have cooked our mains after their starters were served. We waited 1 hour in total. Next day we sat down around 7:15pm (kitchen closes at 8pm). There was only 1 other tables that already got served, so we expected our mains to arrive sooner. However, three tables that sat down around 7:25, 7:40 and 7:50pm got their food first and we were left waiting again (total of 8ppl) Our food arrived again as last ones after one hour wait. Clearly there was a different treatment of guests…

Todo fue maravilloso. La zona donde está el hotel es muy tranquila, no es cerca a Santa Marta, pero no necesitas salir si lo que quieres es desconectarte y descansar y hacer planes con la naturaleza. La comida es buenísima.

Small, quiet and clean. Perfect for a good rest and recuperation. The pool is a winner!
