A great romantic getaway! Loved the hotel, the views, everything is nice. Staff is always there to help! Two swimming pools for relaxing and small access to the sea to just see a small view.

Parking is a bit small, but nothing bad. We had some hot water issues but they were sorted out fast. The road to entry the hotel is dirt so make sure to take a SUV or taller car.

Flavor, ingredients and presentation

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in one of the king suites. The room was clean and welcoming and you can’t beat the incredible views. It felt very private and The bed was comfortable. Our favorite feature was the large sliding door which opened wide to make the large patio part of the living space. We booked a couples massage in our room and that was lovely. From the moment we arrived to our departure the staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Basalto is located between two accessible beaches with a short walk and they have towels, chairs and umbrellas if needed. The staff booked us taxi rides when we asked and they were always on time or early. It’s a quick 10 minute ride into Punta Mita. The breakfast option included in the stay were plenty and delicious. I wanted to bag up some of the homemade granola it was that good. The lunch and dinner was fabulous! We travel quite a bit and this is some of the best food we’ve had on our vacations. Try the grilled shrimp and Baja tacos!! The cocktails were so refreshing and tasty and they had plenty of wine options as well. We enjoyed the upstairs pool, deck and bar with expansive views. It’s the perfect place to get some sun, watch the ocean, the birds flying and diving, read a book, and cool off in the pool. There is a small gym that has enough to get a quick workout in, but we preferred a run or walk on the beach. We would absolutely not hesitate to recommend Hotel Basalto and we hope to return there again sometime soon!

This is a hidden gem in Punta Mita- the ten room property is beautiful and the food and staff is 5 star. Large rooms and balcony, double closet, large shower, stunning view if you are in the ocean side Food- beautiful complimentary breakfast each day with big variety overlooking the ocean Pools and lounges on two decks, always felt you had the place to yourself Staff was so attentive- all spoke English and would help you with whatever you need. Negative- property is built into a cliff- over ocean covered in rocks. You can get to a private beach nearby though and they will supply you with what you need. Transportation- the property is on a hill with no paved road - all dirt and rocks. So it will cost you at least $25 for a taxi to downtown Punta Mita where the bars and restaurants are. But transportation comes in minutes in very nice cars

Beautiful and relaxing. We came for a one-night kid-free getaway from our family staying further south in Bucerias, and it was exactly what we needed - perfect for sitting and relaxing by the pool with a book, wine and snacks (the octopus tostada was amazing!). The room was bigger than expected and very nice and comfortable, we loved the hammock on the porch and sunset views.

This is one of the best hotel stays ever with well over 1,000+ hotel nights over many years of travel. It is easily THE BEST small boutique hotel I have experienced. Wow and wow. Every detail. The staff was like a symphony and very warm and friendly. The food was some of the best. Always fresh, local, well paired and well seasoned. Room service was even better. After long days of exploring, the staff would basically bring the kitchen to your room with ease and grace. This hotel has it all: location, views, staff, food, pools, and activities. Always clean and tidy.
