The Bell and Bottle

It was in a great position for what I wanted. There was a lovely little Lane to run down in the afternoon. The restaurant was fantastic. The staff were really good and pleasant and helpful.

Small point was that the air-conditioner was very loud so I couldn’t have it on during the night, but I’m guessing this is not a big issue most of the year.

We didn’t stay as the advertised breakfast in the booking site was not the reality - we were advised that there was not breakfast availability! It’s no longer a pub and is specifically an Indian restaurant -! Without transport this isn’t a viable stay as no food options and no other options close to property - we left and await a refund from booking.com . There was false information on the site

Perfect for what I paid. Decent place to get your head down after a long day. Brilliant aircon unit. Comfy bed and decent shower. Staff welcoming and accommodating.

Windows were on the inside, so couldn't open them. Which felt weird but made up for it with the air con. Didn't bother me too much as I was only there for a night.

The rooms were pretty nice. They were a good size and had adequate supplies.

The location was the biggest problem. It was way out on a busy road close to nothing, neither the train station nor the town. Taxis struggled to find it. The doors are not unlocked until lunch service stops, so when the taxi dropped us for a prearranged baggage drop, he left us in an empty parking lot on a busy highway. We had to call the staff to send someone to unlock and let us in. As soon as we left the room, they locked us out again. One bed was board hard, the other two rooms had decent comfort.

Did not have breakfast.. Enjoyed a drink sitting outside on a warm evening looking at the lovely view south. Clearly the bedrooms (10) are intended for wedding guests after the event. Good idea! Plenty of parking.

My window was a bit small, but at that price I am not complaining.!

The shower was terrible. Broken shower bracket so the shower head would not stay up in position.
