Coniston Hotel Wollongong

great location, direct across road from train station and bakery, bistro in the pub. Its a family friendly pub, the rooms are recently renovated and more like motel than pub.

Great size rooms, hotel is newly renovated. Very quiet rooms and having the bistro underneath is very convenient when travelling with a family. We really appreciated having the cot organised for us 😊

The room and bathroom were clean and modern and the check in service was pleasant and efficient.

The TV remote control was held together with sticky tape and some of the buttons didn't work so we were unable to select TV programs. The pillows were a little lumpy. There was a lot of noise from multiple air conditioning units outside the room which switched on and off constantly through the night.

I really admired the location of the hotel, very convenient. I also admired the environment, very clean with spacious hotel rooms, dining area, pub and car park. It was worth the $ we spent as we enjoyed our stay and the beauty of Wollongong.

My partner and I loved everything about the hotel and wish to come back everytime when he's on his breaks. However, one honest feedback from my partner and I during our stay is, we didn't understand if it's normal or not but on our 2nd night after having dinner at the hotel's restaurant we went inside the gamble room and one of the staff came and asked for our ID's. What I didn't understand is, was it one of the hotel's policy or was it just us they chose to check on? If it was the hotel'spolicy, why didn't she check IDs for others who were in there next to us and those who entered after us? From my understanding, we already provided our ID's when checking in the day before and this was something I felt bad about. Additionally, there was no room service provided on the next day as mentioned by the staff who checked us in on our first night. Due to continuous rain that day, our towels were still wet and there was only 1 toilet paper which finished on the 2nd night. Apart from these two, we really love the hotel. The price and quality is super.
