Clean beach but murky ocean water. Great restaurants (Embers)

First time in Belize, didn't know what to expect and our experience was excellent! First, people - very friendly, ready to help with anything, manager "went above and beyond" to accommodate our needs. Same is about the Embres, its staff and food is delicious. Great location, private sand beach, very clean, meticulously maintained grounds. Beach is quite shallow and great for kids. Fully staffed kitchen, water & coffee provided, comfy beds. Enjoyed kayaking and terrific massage. Thank you all!

Enjoyed having free usage of bikes, kayaks, corn hole, etc. Location was quiet and nice. Would definitely stay here again. Employees all super nice and helpful.

The bugs bites - but that had nothing to do with the resort.

Beautiful beach , units very clean and comfortable. Excellent wifi. Paddle boards, yoga pavilion

If you do not have a vehicle and want to go out in the evening it is quite dark to walk or take a bike to town

This is an EXCELLENT hotel, the restaurant is A 💯, the staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. I recommend anyone visiting Hopkins, to stay here a few nights.

Great facilities. Very modern apartment and spacious. Full kitchen and AC/inverter in every room.

Cleanliness - I have been to a wide range of accomodations in Belize. This was the highest pricest and I expected premium service/accomodations. When I walked in there was a dirty Q-tip in the master bedroom. The bathroom was not well cleaned and there was hair from old guests all over the shower, flower and outlet (? haven't seen this before). Roads - The way to get to the hotel is not safe/pleasant. You have to navigate many potholes on a dirtroad. At that time, it had rained and the water level was high

The family that operated the property were a pleasure to interact with. They were helpful and gave support with our stay. It was quiet and clean and beds were comfy. We enjoyed having breakfast on the deck outside our room. We also enjoyed taking the bikes and exploring. Having the bikes made the trip into town easy and convenient.

The fluctuating water pressure made it challenging to shower.

The food at the Embers restaurant was amazing, atmosphere, staff, music all went above and beyond expectation!

Reasonably priced; apartment (misleadingly advertised as a "villa") was extremely clean when we arrived; staff was friendly and accommodating; apartment was large with full kitchen; nice sea view; large hot tub by the pool; Embers restaurant on site was convenient, had gluten-free pizza and (sometimes) waffles; property has a dock where our snorkeling boat picked us up.

Room decor lacked charm; reception desk closed at 4:30 pm; restaurant had many menu items unavailable on any given day and frequently served me something other than what I ordered; hot tub had no jets; property's seafront lacked a sandy beach.

The property was beautiful and clean. It was a very relaxing atmosphere. Our beds were comfortable and we had great amenities like a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful stay.

The property was located on an estuary (where the river empties into the ocean) and a fair distance away from town (about 1-1.5 miles to get to the activity and food). We were there during a very rainy week so this may not be a fair assessment. The water was quite cloudy and brown, and it’s a long walk in the rain to get into town. They do have golf carts for rent and complimentary bikes which made it easier to get around and explore Hopkins. It was a very nice and very relaxing resort and it was cool to be close to both the river and the ocean. If you’re looking for quiet and relaxation it’s a great place to stay, but if you want clear water for swimming and snorkeling and a more touristy/ easy access to food and activities type vibe then I would recommend staying toward the other end of Hopkins.
