New Dap Hostel (in Grape Town)

Great location at the center of old town. Twin room was big and nicely decorated. Booking a tour is easy and lots of common area to hang out, both in coffee shop at the reception and open dining area inside. Hostess speaks perfect English, so great help to most international guests.

Nothing much to dislike, really. June was off season due to the heat and lots of places around were closed but it's not the fault of the hostel, obviously. Late July through September is supposed to be more pleasant.

My overall experience with this hostel was good. The hostel is in Grape town and there is a bus stop not far from the hostel, so it is easy to get to where you want to go in Turpan.

I loved how helpful the English-speaking owner was, from the minute I made the booking to checkout.

We had booked a double room with a private bath and we were more than happy with our choice. The whole atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed, and we met interesting travelers. The hostel is situated in a nice, friendly neighbourhood with lots of small restaurant and we enjoyed it very much to sit in front of the hostel, seeing the world go by. In the morning with a very good coffee, in the evening with the local red wine. Sometimes children or the local English teacher come by to improve their English. Tang and her team are very friendly and helpful and she speaks excellent English. We enjoyed a great day out to some of the scenic spots in the area, Tang organised for us. As it was so hard to leave, we booked two more nights.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! The location is ideal, close to everything you need and perfect for exploring grape town. The place is very well run, clean, and welcoming. The hosts are truly wonderful, friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I especially recommend talking with them about possible visits in the surrounding areas; they gave me great advice and helped organize some unforgettable experiences. Highly recommended!

One of my favourite places to stay on my trip till now. The staff, dog (Wandou) 🐶🤎, kitties, rooms, bathrooms, design, facilities, places to chill,... Even the typical chinese thin mattresses were here better than in other places! I wish I could have stayed longer.

Nothing really. Toilet paper run out frequently but there was always available downstairs...

Stay here 4 day 3 night. The place are clean and tidy. Staff are friendly. Location are strategy. Publiy bus stop just a 100m away. Very convince. The street along the hostel full of restaurants.

A friend of mine recommended I visit Turpan during a whirlwind three-day visit to Xinjiang. I found Dap Hostel on Booking and confirmed my reservation after reading through the excellent reviews. I’m thrilled to share that Dap is just as wonderful as everyone describes. The owner, Tang, messaged me shortly after making my reservation on Booking and sent further details on WeChat. She is a fluent English speaker and communication was quick, smooth, and efficient. When I decided I wanted to extend my stay by one night at her property and Booking said there were no rooms available, Tang was able to process my request and welcomed me upon arrival. Tang and her staff are friendly and enthusiastic with a wealth of information about Turpan, its tourist attractions, and local transportation. Tang also gave great advice regarding road closures due to a local marathon on the morning of my departure and where it would be best to meet my Didi driver. It was a pleasure to chat with her about her background, briefly meet her son, and spend a bit of time with the lovely cat and dog who also call Dap Hostel their home. The room was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and refreshing after a visit to Urumqi, a half day at Jiaohe Ancient Village, and an evening spent exploring Turpan and some of its neighborhoods. Without any complaints or reservations, I’d highly recommend Dap Hostel as a destination for visitors of all ages and nationalities. Tang and her team have done an excellent job creating a home away from home for visitors to Turpan. There is nothing that I would recommend this property do differently and hope that more guests are able to enjoy their stay as much as I did.
