Near the river house and the falls. Perfect Sunday food.

Everything was excellent. The friendliness of the staff was outstanding. Choice at breakfast was very good. Dinner menu was adequate but a bit limited. The ‘pies’ (steak and chicken and ham) are clearly not homemade and I found them very poor quality - (little or no meat, heavy pastry)

I was at the very top of the house….213…. And I found the stairs quite difficult. A staff member explained that it was a listed building so getting permission is difficult. Still, getting to the top of the house is too much work for a seventy year old!!!

Great location but no car park specifically for the hotel. Spacious room and bathroom compared with The Angel in Bowness. Lady , Spanish? , at breakfast was really cheerful and pleasant.

Rather dated, tired room. Old furniture. Bath with overhead shower not great for getting in and out of. £15 per night for a dog is expensive. Room not serviced. Breakfast ingredients not the best quality but plentiful.

I waited over an hour between starter and main course. It didn’t match the pictures and resembled a small Wetherspoons. There is no nearby parking.

Very basic tired rooms with windows that don’t open, shower controls hanging off and zero pressure. Needs some money spending and refurb

The room, location and price were all excellent

The staff were not welcoming, we felt like a burden. They didn’t say anything in particular that was unpleasant, they just look annoyed and probably overworked. No one asked if we enjoyed our evening meal, no one asked if we enjoyed our stay or if everything was ok, no one really particularly cared.

Breakfast was great and room was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfy! We didnt eat apart from the breakfast but that was good with plenty of selection. large selection of drinks and very close to all other pubs/shops/walks in Ambleside

not an issue, just a mention for information, no parking at the pub but it is not a problem at all as there is parking down the road just after Alpkit.
